Play Left 4 Dead 4 Free on Friday

Valve certainly seems to know the fine art of enticing people to buy their stuff. On Friday, you'll get to play L4D (http://store.steampowered.com/app/500/) for a whole twenty four hours.

Beginning Friday at 12:01 am GMT, the PC version of Left 4 Dead will be available for a free 24-hour trial via Steam. The free trial will include access to the recently released Survival Pack DLC, which introduces a new multiplayer game mode and two additional Versus campaigns. Those who wish to give L4D and the Survival Pack a try may now pre-load everything needed to play with no obligation to purchase.

That depends on where you live. In EST (where I am), 12:01am GMT Friday is 7:01pm Thursday. This means that it'll be over at 7pm on Friday for me.

If I didn't already own the game, I'd be pretty upset about the time frame they have chosen. Especially considering just over a month ago UT3 was free for 48 hours over a weekend.

Has Steam announced if anything is on sale this weekend? Perhaps they are making L4D free on Friday because it'll be on sale Saturday and Sunday. Sort of like a 1,2 punch.
