It looks like the demo of Condemned: Criminal Origins has finally hit the Xbox Live Marketplace, and is now available for download. More on Major Nelson's blog here (http://www.majornelson.com/2005/12/28/condemned-demo-now-available/).
Also, in the better-late-than-never category: openXBOX360 (http://www.openxbox360.com/) has posted their review (http://www.openxbox360.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=379&mode=flat&order=0&thold=-1) of the game, scoring it with a 4 / 5.
Graphically, Criminal Origins is amazing. The different environments (which include a school, library, and others) are intricately detailed, enabling you to be immersed into the story far more than you would imagine. The walls, floors, objects, and even blood all look excellent. The real-time lighting, which adds a lot to the game, is also incredible. At times, the environments are practically photorealistic.

I liked Condemned, but it was too short. And the way the big ass battle at the end was handled wasn't a high point for myself.

I've really got to agree. The... finding parts of the game were a little off as well. What was with hunting down birds? Just seemed... strange. Ill agree to that ending fight as well, just.. strange? Icky sure, but yeah, it didn't seem like the uber finale I was expecting after the game had been so great up to that point.
On the plus side: I dld love some of the weapons. Especially the locker doors, or the paper cutter. Just lots of fun to bash and slash people with.
Edit: Added stuff.

about 600 megs each.
Quake 4 sucks even worse than I thought. I enjoyed the PC version but the 360 version feels incomplete and cheap or fake. It's hard to explain the game is just off somehow.
Condemned on the other hand plays good and looks even better a little slow in the middle but well worth it.

Didn't think I would like Quake, but I bought it the other day and am loving it.
It's just too bad that Raven didn't put a little more work into the port, because the poor framerate keeps this game from being really great.

Fantastic. Gotta love being able to download demos on Live. Especially when Gamefly can't seem to ship me anything because of the holidays. :(

Interesting, since the Quake 4 demo on the PC was around 330 MB. What levels were in the Xbox 360 demo? Was it the first and a little of the second?

I loved Condemned, but I'm a horror nut. I agree that the end was a little lackluster, but there aren't very many games that deliver a good finale anyway. It was pretty brutal though.

Seriously. Something needs to be done about the JList ads. In this case, Firefox + Adblock is your friend.

Well we are all adults here... I like the adds and some of the stuff they sell on the site is quite useful. Also it keeps EA up and running ;) You get it all, a good news site and some half naked cat-girls!
Condemned was the first 360 game that I finished, it wasn't great, but made me want to keep on playing. Definately a title worth picking up if you need something to play.

***Spoiler Warning***
I am currently starting chapter 7, and it's been fucking scary so far. I play with all the lights off, and the sound way up. That department store level was out of this world creepy. Like that broken-record christmas music in the background. And then you go into dream-mode and all those fucking mannequins move all around you when you turn your back... It doesn't get less scary when you have a wife that screams next to you on the loveseat...
This game is one of the most atmospheric I've ever played. I'll be sad when it's over.

Remember, 360 games assume there is no Hard Drive to store compressed data.
