GamingSteve (http://www.gamingsteve.com) has a new podcast out with an hour long interview (http://www.gamingsteve.com/archives/2005/12/gaming_steve_ep_29.php) with Tim Train of Big Huge Games.
Tim Train (Civilization, Master of Orion, Alpha Centauri) from Big Huge Games sits down with Gaming Steve to talk about his upcoming RTS Rise of Legends. In the one hour interview Steve and Tim talk about:
* The game’s unique setting.
* How the RTS genre is evolving.
* Playing Magic: The Gathering (which Tim also worked on).
* How to balance a complex RTS.
* The unique Rise of Legends single-player campaign.
* Why the Director’s cut of the movie Aliens really sucks big time.

Two things:
1. Rise of Legends looks awesome, and this from a guy who doesn't normally care for RTS games.
2. The director's cut of Aliens is bitchin'.

I'm looking forward to this title. Since no one but our department has to be at work all week, I believe I will give this a look and see whatit's about.
What does this director's cut of Aliens include: the sentry guns that is sometimes in the TV version, and sometimes not, but always suspicuously missing from the dvd?

Doesn't like Alpha Centauri!? They can both burn.
I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, I'll finish the interview...

The beginning had kind of an introduction to Newt and her family.
But I say it rocks.

I think their arguments over their appreciation of Aliens misses one important thing: they are both fanatic fans: they could probably quote the entire movie. Of course they don't like additional footage that detracts from what they originally percieved to be a perfect movie. I like more stuff in my movies.
A more interesting argument is: Is Deckard from Blade Runner a Replicant? I think no.
