Chris Taylor has posted the following bit (http://www.gaspowered.com/newsletters.php?newsID=20) regarding Dungeon Siege 2 expansion pack on the official Gas Powered Games website. ([url=http://www.gaspowered.com/)
Looking ahead, 2006 will be another exciting year for GPG, as we have many unannounced projects in development. I don't want to spoil all the surprises for 2006, and we'll announce them as soon as we can. Keep an eye on your inbox for more news in the months ahead. Oh, and we'll be announcing the release date for the DS2 Expansion Pack as well.
Thanks to Gamecloud (http://www.gamecloud.com/) for the tip. (http://www.gamecloud.com/article.php?article_id=2833)

I was pretty dissapinted in this game. The graphics were worst than the original which was already, like, 4 years old. And the "die and start in hometown but without your armor" thing was a dumb idea, they should have kept it the same as the original. Seems to have a promising story line though.

The graphics were better then the orginal just not by much, and the die and start in hometown mechanic was just like Diablo 2, and I never heard anyone complain about it there. It more then filled my action-rpg craving, and I quite enjoyed it.

Speaking of Dungeon Siege, has anyone here played the Ultima V: Lazarus add-on for the original DS? I can't believe how well they re-worked the engine to fit the Ultima World. The scope of that project is quite amazing.

I also enjoyed this in Coop mode, but it left a dry feeling after I finished it. The skill system was a nice addition, but way too dumbed down, at least when compared to Diablo 2.
I expected more from it, but I do recommed this game to the casual hack and slash RPGer.

I didn't realize that DS2 had sold well enough to justify an expansion. The game got old really quickly, and the dull story and awful voice-acting gave me no motivation to finish it.

Yeah the voice-acting made me cringe in a few places, but I enjoyed the gameplay, and it was pretty long so thats always a plus. But no matter what anyone says the story was better then the originals.

Remember when Chris Taylor mad Total Anihilation? Remember how good that game was? Remember when they hurt us so bad with TA:Kingdoms? I really want Taylor to return to RTS. Dungeon Seige was alright, and DS2 was a massive let down (at least to me). It is just a generic hack and slash RPG with a shitty storyline.

Oh hey, they finally have a nice site for Supreme Commander. I'll probably buy this, as when it comes out, I'll finally have the urge to actually beat DS2.

I got DS2 as a Christmas present, and I'm not sure I understand most the complaints about it being a 'letdown', especially from people who liked the original. It mantains the fast-paced, Diablo-esque gameplay of the original, but adds in some much-needed depth with special movies and levelling up stuff and such. It's far from an amazing game, but I've had lots of fun with it. I'll probably pick up the x-pack, for the right price.
