Score one (temporarily) for the little guy? According to Edge (http://www.edge-online.com/news/court-orders-return-scratch-%E2%80%93-ultimate-dj-code), a court has decided that, while finding no evidence of wrongdoing, Activision must return all the source code related to Scratch: The Ultimate DJ to Scratch DJ LLC.
The Los Angeles County Superior Court granted Scratch DJ a temporary restraining order in its lawsuit against Activision Publishing and its CEO, Lewis Peterson.
Although the court found no evidence of wrongdoing by Activision in an April 15 hearing, the company was ordered to return all source code related to Scratch – The Ultimate DJ, including 7 Studios' pre-existing developer software tools and technology that went into developing the game.
The court also granted an injunction preventing 7 Studios from disclosing or discussing the game code or Scratch trade secrets with Activision or any other third party.
