Then the “versión not oficial” of this history it is that in fact the game has been two months finished , but when in Bethesda Softworks they received kit of definitive development for the new console of Microsoft, realized of which this machine had hardware very well to do much more of which they had thought.

I think what that post is saying is that the game was essentially complete when they received their final X360 dev kits. Seeing how powerful the final hardware was, Bethesda realized that they could do a lot more with the hardware and decided to implement new features/functions to take advantage of it.

The people which plays of the plays of computer probably will want to know why this delays the version of PC of the play. Us should be able to play the game while the XBox360 users await their copies. It is sad: (

If it means we'll be playing sooner than March, I'm in.

Didn't they say the same thing about Morrowind?

If true, they delayed the PC version so all the pirates and discounters don't cut into the 360 sales, simple as that.

For my money, I'd hope they'd leave the game alone and use the extra power of the machine to keep the framerate up! PC developers don't care about such things, all they care about is amount of pixels (resolution). I personally care about quality of pixels (lighting, post-effects, normal mapping, etc) and FRAMERATE! Anything sub-30fps (and CONSTANT) is UNACCEPTABLE.

i think that's the MS version of the 'what happened'. what >I< still believe is they found that the game ran like shit on the console because they found out that in real life, all those spec mean shit.

to me that explains all the crappy 360 screen shots we've been seeing of the game the last few updates, they're cutting back left and right.

You know, PC games give you the option of turning off graphical effects, to improve framerate.

I don't think I've heard such a silly statement in a while.

So you don't want lots of pixels, but rather pretty ones?

Yeah...I don't think that's what PC developers are doing, what with the "Settings" buttons in most (all) games.

Sheesh...

This is, unfortunately, pure speculation. I have had suspicions that the PC version has been complete but delayed because of the 360, but I have yet to find any proof to them.

If Kathode comes right out and says it to us, then yes, I damn well should have my copy by february at the latest, and to hell with the console persons, but as is, all signs point to some game crippling thing happend at the last minute, and when they fixed that, something else buggered up, and so on.

I'm hoping they decided to take some time to polish up character animation and the AI, personally. No hurry, though. I can wait.

Speculatio, sure. But really, the bastards! The only good thing about this not coming out sooner is the stack of half-played games I bought this fall.

You can ship bugs on the PC, lots of them. In fact you can ship a PC game that:
a. Crashes the instant you try to boot it up
b. Removes the contents of your hard drive on uninstall.

You can’t do that on 360, so if the delay is because of bugs, I’d say there is indeed a good chance that it’s because of the 360 version. This will result in the PC people getting it later, but at least this way you won’t have to wait a month for the first patch and then figure out what in your save game it may have screwed up.

It's because of the X360 non-standard HDD, people. Bethesda thought all X360s would have standard HDDs, but eventually no. So the game is again optimized for X360 without the HDD.

So this leave time for Bethesda to find bugs on the potentially buggier version (PC). We ought to welcome that. Buggy products are never good. But what if all time from now to release they only concentrate their QA for the X360 version? Bomb them to 7th Hell.

You want me to list my stack of half played games don't you? ;)

1.) Act of War (which is a GREAT game)
2.) Empire Earth II (Which isn't)
3.) Flatout
4.) Locomotion
5.) Age of Empires 3
6.) X2: The Threat
7.) X3: Reunion (actively playing.. haven't beaten yet)
8.) Need For Speed: Most Wanted
9.) Ground Control 2
10.) IL2: Forgotten Battles
11.) Forza Motorsports
12.) MechCommander 2
----------------------

The sad thing is I bought every single one of those games. :D

I can guarantee that Bethesda knew that the harddrive wouldn't come standard for a long time before the general public knew. MS didn't leave one of their top developers in the dark.
