Civony using Age of Kings sprites?

So I finally clicked on one of the Civony ads to take a look, and has anyone else noticed that the sprites/assets used by Civony are directly taken from Age of Kings? I was just wondering if anyone had found an official line on whether they licensed them, or if something illegal is happening there?

Its popping up everywhere that advert, I would not touch it with a shitty stick looks Dodge. Expect spam mail in you inbox aswell if you signed up for it.

A few of these games seem to pull sprites and material to make online versions of games. I'm extremely tempted by the Pokemon one that pops up - it looks pretty god damned excellent.

The girl in the ad is pretty hot and the Japanglish on the sign-up page is pretty cool too.
