According to the Official Guild Wars Website (http://guildwars.com/news/gameupdates.html), Guild Wars now sports a fancy observer mode. Now you can watch as top-ranked guilds battle it out in the Tombs and in rated guild matches. The upcoming Guild Wars Regional Playoffs and World Championship will also be available for viewing as they happen.
While you are watching a game, you can chat with your fellow observers. There is no limit to the number of people who can simultaneously observe a game, but for purposes of chatting, observers are randomly assigned into groups of about 100 people.
Excellent. The GW Team just keeps bringing out feature after feature...all free of charge.

Awesome, i'm watching the #4 korean guild battle off with the #12 european guild... pretty sweet stuff. Arena must have some hot ass employees working for them. HOT.

Half-Life TV and PGR3's spectator modes might have had something to do with this, in any case, AWESOME.

Actually, Observer Mode has been in planning for GW since before release. Its in a lot of interviews back from release time.

Free of charge and full of bugs :D
Apperantly they also added personal teleporters. Last night when I logged in, every place I click on the ground, instead of walking I would be teleported too after few seconds. (yeah that was my lame way to complain about the lag after every update).

...Whoopty. What is it with people these days? I don't want an observer mode, this is precisely why G4 was a BAD idea, and why I'll never support the pro-gamer movement. Watching other people play video games is NOT fun. I don't care about watching other people play games that I could play myself, not sports games and certainly not video games.

I cant wait for people to complain about lag from this.
I cant get into GW. I love it in Beta and during the first few weeks of release but then it just got boring.

Yes. I am sure them adding this was a really negative thing for some people. How could it not be?

Why is it such a bad thing though? I guess I missed the part of the story where it forces everyone to enter this mode and watch other people play.
I mainly see this from a tactical point of view.
Want to know build the team that just defeated the hall of heroes was using?
Go to observer mode, take note of the strategies, craft your own team around that and you have a much more interesting competition going on in the long run.

Yeah, watching sports is such a drag. I wonder why they keep signing 100 million dollar television contracts. Doesn't make any sense. (sarcasm)
Anyways, we'll chalk you up as a minority introvert and call it a day, I guess.

Yeah what is it with people these days, sheesh, who wants free stuff that's cool and actually enjoyable to people.
Man I hate that.

Games aren't observed in realtime, so I don't see lag as a problem.
Anyway, someone tell santa to get his fat arse to lions arch.

That's pretty badass. And Peri, given how important build choice is to this game, having ways of observing the winning teams is a great way to make sure that a given tactic isn't dominant for too long before its counters start cropping up. In any case, I see no reason to begrudge the feature.
Too little, too late.
Replays can't be saved, you're limited to viewing what matches are in the queue (eventually older ones are removed as choices to be viewed), the insane spam of the "Observer" channel makes discussing the match with people negated, you can't view your guild fight some other guild in real time (by the time you can view it, it's probably over and you've already heard the results on vent/ts2, and yes they did it to stop "cheating"....).
Small credit to them for attempting to push it out right before Christmas but way too little to save the dying pvp community of the game, maybe if they had put it out back in July or even August.

Nothing about this game is dying. The rate @ which Guild Wars Pumps out Free Content puts all other Pay to Play games to shame and that is a fact.

I disagree. GW can be very entertaining to watch if you know what's going on. Plus you can pick up some tips from watching the top guilds battle each other.
