Amazon appears to have thrown together another 'exclusive' video game package for uberfans, similar to what they've done with games like Gears of War 2 and Fallout 3. Ghostbusters the Video Game Amazon.com Exclusive Slimer Edition was recently listed on their website and is not inexpensive. Both the 360 (http://www.amazon.com/Ghostbusters-Amazon-com-Exclusive-Slimer-Xbox-360/dp/B0025UOYR8?tag=evilavatarcom-20) and PS3 (http://www.amazon.com/Ghostbusters-Amazon-com-Exclusive-Slimer-Playstation-3/dp/B0025UMVU0?tag=evilavatarcom-20) versions will run you $129.99, and the Wii (http://www.amazon.com/Ghostbusters-Amazon-com-Exclusive-Slimer-Nintendo-Wii/dp/B0025UOZ40?tag=evilavatarcom-20) version will run $109.99. Included in the Slimer edition are:



An exclusive Slimer bust designed and created by the original movie sculptor, Steve Johnson. Comes complete with a certificate of authenticity signed by the sculptor himself.
Exclusive Ghostbusters Minimates. Only be available with the Slimer Edition.
Exclusive Ghostbusters Gamer Graffix Console Skins.
Exclusive Ecto 1 Key Chain with lights and sound.

You know i've been really on the fence with all the collectors edition games as of late.
Shitty swag such as cheap plastic goods, badly sewn bags, badly painted "action figures" etc are such a waste of time! What happened with just adding a nice art book, a well produced making of dvd and maybe soundtrack a $10 worth value. It seems those becoming more rare and shit like Ghostbusters bundle here or RE5 bundle gain popularity and insane prices. So yeah fuck NO.

Exactly. They should just refer to this as the "Still a Virgin" edition.

I have lost faith in the CE of games now. The last one I bought was the Halo 3 one. The helmet is cool, but only a few months later they were selling the whole thing $5 cheaper than a standalone copy at Best Buy... Go figure.

I stopped with collector's editions after Halo 2...I still haven't watched the bonus DVD it came with . It's a total scam.

After being sorely disappointed with the craptastic PIP-Boy that came with Fallout 3, Amazon can keep their special collectibles. The regular collector's edition is pretty slick, but 50 bucks more for a piece of junk is out of the question.

the GoW2 gun was decent, the Fallout3 clock thing was a completely POS.

this particular game though i have no interest in, so i don't think i'd even offer to pay s/h for this if they gave it to me for free.

Keep in mind though that this is a signed item with a certificate of authenticity. Ghost Busters being the cult hit that it is, well, if you buy one of these and keep it sealed it could be worth a pretty penny in 20-30 years.

i'd be shocked that anything ghostbusters from the 80's would be worth anything today, let alone a game of it now into the future.

that's like saying sealed star wars force commander will be worth something in 10 years.

Yeah, after the spectacular POS that was the Pip-Boy clock, I'll never buy another Amazon exclusive CE again. An extra $50 for an unpainted piece of cheap brittle plastic that has a clock that works for less then a week off of 3 AAs? THANKS AMAZON!

I've wanted to retrofit a 3.5" digital picture frame into it, but haven't gotten the time yet. If you do decide to go for this, be prepared to be immensely disappointed.

They should pack in the DVDs with movie licenses. Both films sell in a pack for like £5.

It got some people to buy Wanted: Weapons of Fate over here.

It looks pretty shitty, and as a rule it seems the pics they show you of the special/collector's/limited edition bonuses are much better than the stuff you end up getting so that doesn't bode very well for this.

I regret getting that clock in all honesty, it would be great if it didn't run through 3 AA batteries in 48 hours. Luckily I didn't pay full price for it, but still, what a waste...

Ha, I had that too! Me and my best friend went as Ghostbusters for Halloween when we were 6 or 7. It was awesome. Good memories, good memories.
