Street Fighter IV has been out for about two months now, and has yet to see its promised free Tournament update. Not only that, but it appears as though it is still experiencing some issues with its matchmaking. Duplicate results of people show up in the quick search, 80% of the time the games are not joinable for a multitude of reasons, and as the video in the first post shows, some people that show up in the list aren't even online.

I have attempted to contact Capcom on the status of their title update, but have not had a response as of yet.

Hit the headline for a demonstration of the issues that still abound on this multiplayer focused title.

Capcom having issues with online? Lack of support after release? Say it isn't so...so unheard of!

Yep. It was happening to me last night and I just to decided to check this morning, and now I'm receiving the message "Could not find an opponenet. Please widen your search parameters or create a match" for both Ranked and Player matches. I had set all the parameters to 'Any'..they're not going to get any wider than that.

What's just as frustrating is getting the 'Unable to join' message, which I assume is due to the whole 'NAT Type' issue. My NAT is on open and from my understanding, I should be able to join another persons game even if their NAT is on moderate or strict? Being in Australia, it can be really tough find a game with 4 yellow bars and when you do, it's a pain in the arse to not be able to join because of this.

It's really disappointing considering that HD Remix got the online portion of it's game so right. Blind picks to prevent to counter picking, lobbies and spectators, using GGPO to minimise lag, etc.

To say SFIV still has matchmaking issues is being kind. Its just this side of broken. HD:R matchmaking works much, much better.

I spend more time looking for games than actually playing.

I just host games. The wait time is minimal and i'm always on the left side of the screen. I have noticed the problem, but its easily solved with hosting...

I just tried for about 15 minutes to find either a Ranked or Unranked game, it was even worse than seeing the same dude multiple times like this afternoon... instead, nothing was found at all. So great.

It seems funny saying this but; Ever since before last week when my 360 RROD'd, SSF2:HDTR ranked matches worked perfectly. Maybe Backbone/Foundation 9 should contract out for Capcom's networking code.

Not for me it isn't. I try hosting and I sit and wait and wait like I'm the only person on the planet trying to play SFIV. The only time I get matches is if I choose Arcade mode and wait for new challengers, and sometimes even then I get matches from people who either won't select 'ready' or are not there at all.

Quick Match and Request are useless. Search custom games, and make sure you have the parameters set to 'ANY' on everything (except # of rounds, that won't shorten the search time). You get a list of 5-10 matches in about 2 seconds.

Then you gave up way too soon. You've missed a lot of good stuff. :p

The matchmaking is still broken and it needs to be fixed. Instead of working on new outfits for DLC Capcom should focus on making joining matches easier.

The outfits were already on the disc, no work required ;)

I actually like the current matchmaking ... it is very proficient at trying hard to keep my battle rating from dropping at an alarming rate. If I can't connect to a match then I can't blow the match with horrible play and inefficiency.
