MMORPG.com (http://mmorpg.com/) has posted a Q&A session (http://mmorpg.com/showFeature.cfm/loadFeature/355) with Daron Stinnett, covering some basic information about the Executive Producer himself. Not too much Star Trek: Online info here but there's some cool concept stuff and it gives you a decent idea of who's helming this game's development.

What do you think, delayed another year or so? I personally want to play in the Star Trek universe, but I have this feeling that I'll be killing virtual rats inside the game's holodeck for the first 10 "security" levels.
Oh the Irony.

I honestly hope that it won't turn out like that.
I mean hell, the last thing he mentions in the Q&A is the starship battles.

While this should rock I have a funny feeling will be treated to a Matrix online crapfest.
They never got ship combat right for start trek. The player MOD for Homeworld was as close as anyone got to how I think it should be. I hear great things about EVE online so I'm thinking about trying the demo and seeing hwat gives there.
When a big corp owns something like ST they tend to limit the possibilities. Such as a
Federation revolt or a something that might reflect badly on the franchise. No letting the Federation join with the BORG to take everyone else out stuff. One of my fav mods for HW was ST vs Star Wars. Man that was funny online!

"Ster Trek"? Is that the Iron Chef MMORPG?
I cannot wait for this MMO. I love Trek, anything and everything Trek'. Combine it with my love for MMO's this is gonna fucking great. Even if it sucks like SWG, I'll still play it. I'm that much of a fanboy.

I get the same uneasy feeling. I hope this is good, because I love Trek, but what we know about it so far isn't anything that encourages me. =(

I always felt the Starfleet Command games did a great job with the ship combat. Outside of playing on what was essentially a 2-D plane, of course. The multiplayer persistent server side of things always blew chunks too, but the combat itself was pretty good.

We've been hearing about this MMO for about 2 years now. There have been limited FAQ's and Interviews before. But what I'm waiting for is a screenshot. The reason being is that to hear the developers talk this game will be the single biggest most inclusive MMO ever released. I mean its supposed to have away missions, ship to ship combat, as well as the ability to explore the inside of ships.
All of this sounds very nice but I have learned from experience that what developers say and what they deliver are so different as to not even be in the same universe (Horizons anyone?).
So until I see some evidence that there is actually coding being done and a game being developed (a screenshot would be nice) I'm not even considering this an actual retail product and instead thinking of it as a 'game concept'.

Like everyone else im really uneasy about startrek just because most star trek games just...suck...and hard. But I will probubly play it just because i like having the star trek influence on my mind more then anything else I would get from a game. Like SWG, I didn't particularly like the game itself. But having the Star Wars influence on my mind was nice.

one thing they have to do, listen to the fans and do as they say. I'm going to wait for a free trial and try it out if it comes out.
