With Act of War: High Treason, Eugen Systems and Atari are introducing a massive amount of new features and content to enhance and extend the overall experience. High TreasonHigh Treason will expand into naval warfare with over a dozen different vessels, such as AEGIS cruisers, frigates, aircraft carriers and submarines, less scripting, better AI and camera handling.

This is a fantastic game. Probably underrated game of the year IMO. This add-on will be adding tons of features. And full-scale naval battles.

I wish more people played this game...

dunno about game of the year, but I do agree this game is seriously underrated. Looking forward to the addon as well.

So I'm guessing I should buy this game, and the original.

I love the game. I do. It was my favorite RTS of the year until I played Dawn of War.

I just have one serious problem with it...

In skirmish mode, the AI cheats like no other RTS AI I've ever played. Jesus christ. I think the idea is to try to simulate playing another person, not punish the person who bought your game.

I can win, but only if I do the same things over and over again each game. There's no variation to the game against the AI.

Hopefully they'll update the skirmish AI in another patch or with the expansion pack.

As it is the game loses most of it's replay value for me because of the skirmish AI.

The new expanison will fix all that, but there were som moments where the AI amazed me....and others where it was cheating.

I'm surprised you liked Dawn of War more than this. DoW is a much simpler game than the variety of strategy that AoW lays out....unless that's the reason why. Hell, two of the sides were completely alike in DoW...and there was a unit cap!! wtf!?!?!

There are 3 ways to get resources in AoW, and one way is a constant in combat, which also requires up to two upgrades to benefit from it. I like that idea. Plus each faction is totally disimilar. I wish I was at home right now playing it.

Really?, cause I've found the Hardest AI to be predictablly beatable. Grab 2 oil spots, and then turret turtle with a few long range weapons right behind the line. The AI does a horrible job of managing resources and if you can hold out against the initial onslaught, it will evenutally run out of money and you can air strike and tac weapon from the safety of your own base. As Army, I build about 10-12 turrets grouped over the main choke points of the map and add 2 MLS per turret line. Add 1 or 2 snipers for rounding up the survivors. That's it. Sit back and enjoy watching the waves of enemies break against your walls.

In spite of that one nit pick, I love this game. Ranks side by side with Warhammer for RTS of the year. It's like a playable summer popcorn movie :)

It cheats more than Empire Earth? That's impossible.

I hope this patch and expansion is tested better than the original game and its patches. That patch which saw the Map Editor get released was brutal. Actually the map editor was brutal. Errors popping up in french, all kinds of bugs. Still, this was a very fun game and I'm probably gonna pick up this expansion.
