A cool new episodic project has caused something of a legal issues between the current owner, TimeGate, and Paramount. The former claims to have came up with the idea in conjunction with the latter. From 1up. (http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3173644)
According to Team Xbox, the two companies had apparently met to discuss potential "business ventures" regarding the game. After a couple such meetings though, things fell through when Paramount's vice president of interactive development apparently canceled further meetings without explanation.
Three days later, Paramount Digital Entertainment announced their latest project, a web series titled... Section 8.
Paramount has partnered with a "foreign entity" to produce the project, which will apparently be an "interactive web series" in which the audience is allowed to participate in the plot development. In filing suit, TimeGate dismissed it as "essentially, nothing more than an interactive game."
Who knows, they might have a case. We'll let you know when we have more information.
