By way of IGN, comes a preview and trailer (http://xboxlive.ign.com/articles/967/967780p1.html) for the new Saints Row 2 DLC "Ultor Exposed"
March 30, 2009 - Saints Row 2 is about to get its first downloadable add-on. Due out April 16, the Ultor Exposed expansion will add three new missions, a mission metagame, six vehicles, more hairstyles and outfits, and new multiplayer maps. Oh, Tera Patrick will also be a new in-game character and one of your homies. No big deal. All of that comes with the price of 800 Microsoft points or $9.99. To learn more about this add-on, we went to THQ and got the answers from James Torbit, DLC Producer on Saints Row 2.
So what does everyone think, for those who played it; you know this was the GTA killer. At least in my mind, it was. The game was funny beyond belief, the game play was solid, hours of fun on one disc. This is sure to only add to it.

Saying any game is a "____ killer" means instant-fail in my mind.

Well it's my opinion don't let that deter you from a game/film/book/show any sort of media.
if you did everything would be a fail :p
It is however defently a heavyweight in the ring of sandbox games.

I'm still playing Saints Row 2 while GTA IV sits on the shelf. I haven't even finished the lost and damned DLC because of Saints Row. It did bug out on me the other night which lost me a good deal of game time, but it's still fun as hell so I don't mind going through the missions again. Can't wait to download the new stuff.

I'm on my third way through campeign this time doing all activities and missions co-op with a friend and even the jokes i've heard already are still really funny
"I got a buy for this dope, and he's gonna set us up with tickets to an advanced screnner of Bukkake Ninja"
C'mon how is that NOT funny :p

Ive never had any interest in the Saints Row games.
Between games like GTA4 and Mercs 2 I just don't see what this game would offer me that I cant get in some form somewhere else. Also the humor doesn't seem like it tries very hard, which I think would grate on me through an entire game.

To me GTA did try to hard...it was boring, I still haven't finished the story....I thought it was too drawn out is the only thing i can think of to describe it.

Funny... I don't remember Grand Theft Auto being killed by Saints Row 2. It did sell over 10 million right? Still alive?
I laugh when anyone uses "killer" as a suffix, ESPECIALLY when it comes to games. "Halo killer!" Oh right... cause 2 first person shooters can't co-exist.
As to the DLC. 3 new missions? That sounds like its 15 minutes long.

I greatly appreciate the effort they put in to make it more viable to play Co-Op missions with other people. The achievements requiring EVERYTHING to be done Co-Op is draconic, especially if you went through missions solo.

if you take time to read the interview it says that if you go strait through mission from start to finish two hours.
But again the "Killer" suffix was a personal opinion. If you disagree fine. You don't need to be so defensive over it.

Sorry, "killer" as a suffix has just been a pet peeve of mine for a while now, cause it usually is used to over-hype a game or a new console beyond logical levels. A pet peeve much like adding the suffix "gate" to mean scandal. Makes me wonder if people realize that the NAME of the hotel was Watergate, and they didn't add "gate" on the end of the scandal to sex things up.
Multi-player maps and 2 hours worth of missions, ok sounds like a better deal then.
Can anyone give an opinion on the PC version? I've been on the fence about buying a copy; i'm sick of sucking lemons with half-assed ports though.
Performance OK on a Quad-core with a gtx280? (is 60fps possible @ 1920x1200 with FSAA or is it poorly optimized?)
Are the keyboard and mouse buttons completely remappable? (Does it fully support a wired 360 controller? - does it play better or worse with kb&m?)
If it's worth buying, does it matter between Steam or Retail?
Does co-op work via LAN or does it require going out to the net and back again?
Thx.

Someone hasn't played Saint Row yet...if you did you would answer your own question. ;)
It's not the humor that makes it more fun, it's the gameplay. The humor in both GTA and Saints Row are equally poor (not that I don't chuckle a bit in both from time to time), it's just that SR doesn't take itself seriously at all, ever.

i love the arcady type of play and speed involved...honestly some games just go overboard with story and development, for some it's good..for others like Saints Row it would of killed it...it's all about the over the top "Gangsta" stylized gameplay. It's defently worther looking into if you think you would enjoy it..you probably will..either way you can always try to pick up Saints 1 for cheap it's an greatest hits title now for 360 if you have one.

Count me in. I love Saints Row.
As much as I loved SR2 (and it was a GTA-Killer in my mind, way more fun, way less serious), 2 hours of DLC for 10 bucks? Seems a little short... but I'll probably be sucked in :D

I enjoyed SR2 way more than GTA IV. I just thought the game was much more fun to play. When i bought GTA IV I played it for about a week and then sold it to a friend. I couldn't put SR or SR2 down. They were both great.
