Developed by a Dream.Build.Play winner, The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai will be hitting Xbox Live Arcade this Wednesday, April 1st for 800 MSP.

As an undead samurai dishwasher, get lost in the psychotic, stylistic 2-D action and kick start your warrior quest for revenge. Choose from ancient blades or screen-obliterating “Dish Magic” to fight off an evil cyborg army that has the universe drowning in misery.

Developed solely by 2007 Dream.Build.Play contest winner James Silva, “The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai” boasts a unique story revealed through graphic novel style cut scenes and visceral gameplay. James developed every element of the game, from the art, to the music, to the unique story, making Xbox LIVE Arcade the premier destination for original independent content. Log onto Xbox LIVE on Saturday, April 4, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. PST for your chance to play the game with James himself!

I'm getting it if it's anything like the demo I tried a while ago. It's a neat little side-scrolling hack n slash. I enjoyed it.

Ugh...too much money to spend.

I'm impressed at the guy's talent. Amazing...I hope it does very well.

I liked the demo from way back when, just not sure if I liked it 10 bucks worth.

It should be interesting to see how this turned out after all these months. I'm looking forward to trying the new demo as the first one was pretty impressive.

Played a build at GDC: pretty awesome.
A bit repetitive with enemy types, but overall gameplay is liquid and awesome.
I think certainly worth 800 points.

Finally!!

I remember playing this way back when they first did the free XNA trial thing.
I love the spirit behind the game, I love the style of the game itself, and the entire execution/production is brilliant. This is one of the few games that WOULD be worth the 1200 price bump but I"m glad they went with 800 as it will attract more "on the fence"ers and impulse buyers.

Does it have achievements? Is it an Arcade title, or a Community Games title?

Edit: Yes, it does. Answered my own question. (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/game/the-dishwasher-dead-samurai/achievements/)

I have high hopes for it, but I don't understand the guitar controller gimmick.
