Here is a trailer (http://ofp.gamezone.cz/index.php?showthis=9324) showing in game footage and gameplay from Armed Assault (BI studio's update/ development of Operation Flashpoint).
Bear in mind this is essentially OFP 1.5, not OFP 2.... and it looks amazing.

I beg to differ. It does not look amazing compared to today's standards.

i agree and remember years back that ofp looked like crap.
only redeeming thing is that it has coop.
The multiplayer mode will support battles for more than 60 players, and you'll be able to join in the fun at any time. There will be a co-op mode, too, plus "unique modes of play not seen in any other game."

I may be crazy, but I'd love to get my hands on any new OFP content. Still the one of the best tactical sims I've ever touched. Certainly the best by far at the scale it attempted. And the graphics aren't *that* bad. Better than the Joint Ops games that are both newer and don't attempt nearly the same scale IMO.

OFP was hands down the best COOP FPS I've played. I don't care that it had bugs and bad terrain graphics, the game offered so much freedom with pretty decent AI and endless possibilities. It took me 1 day to learn the map editor and I was plopping down COOP maps that even I could not predict during gameplay. The AI was just comping up with their own ways to kill you.
Anyone who turned this one down because of graphics, really missed out. If you are like me who thinks BF2 is way too arcady, as in I can't even drive a tree over with my abrams or shooting a tank round at a wooden door causes no damage, then this is the game for you.

Only? OFP is still the closest thing to actual combat you're going to find on a compact disc.
Look, if all it turns out to be is OFP, but a bit better, it'll be worth buying.

No, it looks amazing. What some people can't get their heads around is the huge draw distances. OK, your pretty BF clones have lots of polys on the weapons, but you can only see like 500m. Armed Assault you can see 5KM plus.... INCLUDING enemies all the way, unlike Far Cry, the only other game to do half the viewdistance of OFP, which couldnt render enemies/ vehicles/ etc at any distance.

Wow, simply amazing. The draw distance looks even better than OFP. Particle effects are certainly more realistic, but I think the explosions actually look better in WGL. But the biggest change I saw in that trailer are the houses. They look very detailed and vary often. Also the trees group together better making a more realistic looking forest. Forest encounters in OFP were nasty to say the least.
And thanks retsudo for preaching the OFP gospel. The only games I've seen that have equal draw distance with OFP are flight sims, and even those are not nearly as detailed.
