Time for the weekend and a forced vacation from work. And since I am not working, I am not getting paid. Oh well, that is life - but it means more time for GAMES! This weekend I am going to be playing mostly WoW (cool snowball fights happening there), maybe some CoH (got to get my presents), and the try to find the hidden games before Christmas so I can play one of them next week. What are you going to play?

I'm playing have an abscessed tooth that's also infected, sit around in pain popping Tylenol #3's and waiting for it to get pulled after the weekend. Woo hoo. :( Hopefully I should be in less crippling pain tommarow and Sunday so I'll be doing the WoW thing I'm sure, maybe I'll acctually get back to Call of Chtulhu. Don't know why I stopped playing it since it was pretty enjoyable. Depending on how much I feel like it I've been wanting to play Vampire Bloodlines again with the fan patches.
Sadly I know The Movies won't arrive tommarow so I guess that'll have to wait 'till next week.

I just got a tiny 5 week old pup (mother stopped producing milk, so having to handfeed anyway). So, I think I'll hang around here, bake my Christmas presents (in college so I can get away with giving away cookies), and take care of my puppy. . . he's really scared and seems sad right now.
Still no X360. . . I've been playing a couple of betas, Katamari Damacy, and UT2K4 (old standby) during my time with no X360. *sigh*

I picked up my long-neglected God of War save, and finally finished it yesterday. Great game, and very polished. I'll probably spend some time with the DS (Mario Kart and Kirby), and perhaps get a little further in FFVII, which I haven't gotten around to finishing.

Half Life 2 on the xbox, man this game rules and I just got to the second last level. Then I'll be camping out at BB tomorrow night for the Sunday morning 360 sales so I can start the 5 games I picked up back in November when I thought I would get the system Day 1 (PGR3, PDZ, NHL2K6, Condemned and Kameo, most likely in that order.)

On the pc side trying to finish up Cod2, I am almost there, after that finish up the rest of Q4. Hopefully when I finish most of the 360 games I can sit down and try to finish where I stopped with Ssx on Tour and Call of Cuthulu.

Well, I'm gonna fit WoW in somewhere... but my new HDTV is taking center stage. I have my 360 with me here at a home, and also my PS2 (mostly to play Katamari Damacy, We Love Katamari, and Disgaea). I bought FFIV: A on the way home from the dorms yesterday, and I need to get around to playing that as well. From what I understand they fixed the worst feature about that game: You can now select your own party at the end of the game.
EDIT: Oh yeah, and Buffy in HDTV is an awesome you wouldn't believe... especially Once More With Feeling, since it was filmed in wide-screen. Gonna give Firefly a go tomarrow, in preperation for the release of Serenity this Tuesday.

I find most of the bf2:sf forces maps annoying (specifically the night vision ones). ghost town and a few others rock. mostly i bought sf for the ability to use the weapons in regular bf2.
i am so close to buying darwinia. i really enjoyed the demo. they made "tedious" fun (yes, i found leading the darwinians around tedious).
i am also rocking out in bf2. fear my tv guided missile.

I just did an overnight shift which freed my Saturday up to play the "Go Visit The In-Laws For An Early Christmas Party" game. Looks like I'll be playing lots of FFIV Advance today.
Aside from the Final Fantasy lovin', I'll probably work on a few of the holiday quests in WoW, finish PoP:The Two Thrones (I'm on the last or second last boss) and send more of my squads to their doom in Darwinia. Stupid mines...
Yes, Kelegacy, I know that none of those are DQVIII. Between Guitar Hero and The Two Thrones my console time has been dominated by more actiony games this past week than the cerebral goodness of DQVIII. I do have an entire week off after Christmas which will allow me to play DQVIII till my eyes bleed. Well, that, Final Fantasy IV, Ratchet & Clank 3, Guitar Hero and hopefully Phoenix Wright and Trauma Center on the DS I will hopefully be getting (I already have those games... I just need a system to play them on).
I just need to get Prince of Persia finished before I can allow myself to go back to Dragon Questing.

I would, but it creates an akward playing position. See I keep my TV to my right, while my computer is directly in front of me. No other place to put my keyboard and mouse, so I would constantly be looking to my right. Still, I may go try to find my Dad's spare s-video cable so I can hook up my PC to my TV anyhow.

Sheesh, a freaking great spat of games there.
What have you thought of Thief 3 so far? I loved it, but the whole thing felt unpolished, like they were almost done with everything. Like the climbing gloves - useful in all of ... oh, 3 or 4 spots throughout the entire game. And there weren't dozens of secrets spread throughout each stage. Again, I loved it, but I wish Ion Storm had had a little more time to really make it shine.
And if you've played the first two, the third pays homage to its predecessors.

I loved Thief 3 but I agree, it shipped a bit too early. On the PC you can get the upgraded texture packs which make the game a lot better. YOu can turn off the stupid blue glow on doors and such and a lot of the game looks better.
I think I still enjoyed the first Thief the most, though Thief 3 had some outstanding levels (the abandoned orphanage was one of the best levels in any game, ever). I just wish they had scrapped the whole city hub section and presented the game in sequential order. All those hellishly long load times really got to me after a while.

I really should. I'm scared, though, that I missed the opportunity to really appreciate them.
Like, I would tell anybody who missed Half-Life to back and play it, but they would probably have a hard time getting over the 6-7-year-old-ish-ness of it.
Still, if I can get my hands on a copy, I just might do it.

I don't know... the game ooze so much style and atmosphere that they are still a treat to play lo these many years later. I fired up Thief Gold not too long ago (late last year) and I was surprised at how well it played, even with the old graphics.
The cutscenes and intro animations are worth the price of admission alone. The amazing gameplay is just icing on the cake :)

Hmmmm... I might have to seriously pursue this.

I did name my son after Garrett the titular thief. That's how much I <heart> Thief.

Does your wife know where the name came from, though?

You'd better not tell your wife where you got the name for your next child, Kelegacy. He'll be destined for greatness right from birth with a moniker like that!

Actually, she found out about 2-3 months after he was born. It kind of slipped out while we were at a family thing and talking with her mother.
Suffice it to say, I'm not supposed to tell anyone that he's named after a videogame character. So far only one person figured it out without my telling them.
On the flip side of the coin, he did help me name a character in a videogame. My gnome in WoW, Guboo, is the first somewhat intelligible noise he made that wasn't a scream and/or holler.
