The upcoming hybrid RPG-shooter... whatever is coming out in October according to Obsidian (http://www.vg247.com/2009/03/16/alpha-protocol-confirmed-for-october-2009/).

Sega just confirmed Obsidian RPG Alpha Protocol for an October 2009 release.

The spy-based game will “allow players the choice to be smooth like James Bond, cold and precise like Jason Bourne, or just plain explosively kick-ass like Jack Bauer.”

Fancy. A first trailer was released on GTTV over the weekend, and very splendid it looked too.

I don't know about you guys, but this game sounds awesome.

If the reviews are positive, I'm all over this game.

For me, its going to depend on when Dragon Age gets released. I really can't play more than one RPG at a time these days (and even then I have to free an entire weekend just to be sure I can get to play), and I'll take a Bioware game over an Obsidian game every day of the week.

This game is going to be phenomenal. I'm really excited. Bioware gets a chance to do what they want with DA and Obsidian gets a chance to create their own IP with Alpha Protocol.

If I had to choose I'd go with AP though. The uniqueness of the setting for an RPG is really exciting.

This is the entire schtick that was used in the article/interview that Gameinformer (I think was GI) did on the game last year. Basically which super spy would you like to be like yadda yadda... Game seems entertaining in concept so far, just like Too Human was!

I am intrigued. The interview was pretty good too, if you have the 20 minutes to watch the whole thing. It seems like it is more more of a FPS with skill leveling than an action-RPG though. Nevertheless, I'm intrigued and will keep my eye out for a demo.

Graphics are a little weak. Hoping for a spy version of Mass Effect.

Nice to see Avellone still looks a bit creepy, hehe. Hope this does well though, always liked Obsidian, and it looks interesting. Although I hope it's not too focused on action
