MoH is one of those series that really needs to die...

I've only been playing the series since Allied Assault, so I haven't grown all that tired of it yet. I enjoyed Pacific Assault, but European Assault on the consoles was utter crap.

Agreed, after playing CoD, it feels so inferior, maybe because they use the same engine and graphics every game.

On the consoles they do I believe, but on PC, the PA was actually quite pretty, and it was a great game, it was different then the other MoHs up to this point. But yeah Infinity Ward showed EALA how to make a game.

The first MoH was freaking amazing for its time, loved that game. The next one was just ok then it was just shit ever since. CoD/CoD2 is far better.

Did you play PA it was actually quite good, I was impressed, although at points the controls felt a tad sluggish.

EA is going to produce another sequel to a successful franchise? (shock!) + (horror!)
Anyway, wasn't Infinity Ward started by the guys who made the first Medal of Honor?

Not the first medal of honor but Allied Assault for the PC. Which was a great game, but they just turned it up after being taken off the future projects, and made CoD. Oh boy did they ever show them up.

The levels in all the games are almost the same. It gets pretty boring!

Yeah, a much more interesting headline would be "Xbox360 Medal Of Honor Not Planned?" Next, some crazy person is going to say that another Megaman game is in the works.

Of course this game will be made for the 360! In other news, large corporations like to make money...
Also, I have an abnormally high confidence that this series will improve dramatically.

Something tells me this itteration of MoH will look a surprizing amount like PA.

So is this an air combat game? Or does Airborne refer to the Airborn Rangers?

My thoughts exactly. I loved playing the very first first MoH on the PS1. That game was fantastic. Ever since then, the MoH games have lost that charm for me. And then CoD came along, and buried MoH.
I'm not surprised there is going to be a new MoH game. It's owned by EA, and they wouldn't let a cash cow die until it was milked dry. I won't hold my breath waiting for this game.

I'm pretty sure it's referring to either the 82nd or 101st Airborne divisions.
Which means you'll see combat in the now too-familiar areas of:
- Normandy (D-Day)
- Netherlands (Market Garden)
- Bastogne (the Bulge)

Well that would be pretty lame.
CoD had a whole Airborne Ranger campaign, so I don't need a crappier rehash.

Agreed! The first one really drew me in... then I played, uh... MoH: Underground? With the French gal as the main character? I don't even *remember* the game, it made that little of an impression. I picked up Allied Assault, and I'm not sure I even finished it. Perhaps I'll take a peek at MoH: Next Gen, though.
*digs out PS1 MoH*

CoD basically is MoH. Almost everybody who worked on the MoH series up to and including Frontline told EA to fuck off and created two companies: Infinity Ward (for PC development) and Sparks Unlimited (for console development). They signed up with Activision, and the rest is history. AFAIK, the only thing about MoH that's still related to the glory days is the name. Hell, CoD even ganked the composer for the games' soundtracks, Michael Giacchino (who's also the composer for "The Incredibles", "Lost", and MI:3).
