Alright readers - The list has been gone through and now you will decide which Xbox game is your GotY. There was a lot of choices but a few stood out above the crowd.

Don't forget to put down your favorite PS2 GotY (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7955).

Hmm, first vote. So tasty. Quick story behind Psychonauts: One of my roomates thought the game was so awesome he went out and bought a brand new copy, even though I already had one. He did it just to support the developer and encourage creative games such as this one.

Damn, I must have missed the other thread to nominate my choices. I would have voted for GTA: SA or Jade Empire. But, I have logged the most hours on Halo2 even though that was last year's GotY.

Ditto with Stranger's Wrath. Go buy it today and maybe they'll decide to make more games.

I agree. Halo 2 still eats away at my soul. Shit, by the time they launch Halo 3 I won't have any of my soul left to use as sacrifice so I can get a copy!

Fahrenheit all the way.

Most likely Resi' 4 on PS2. Or 'Collosus.

Riddick would be my game of '03 with most likely San Andreas its PS2 bedfellow.

I'm voting Farcry because I didn't get a chance to play some of these games, including Psychonauts. I passed it up for a number of reasons that I now regret. I will be giving this one a try right away.

I'm assuming I shouldn't vote for Indigo Prophecy just because it's the only one of these games I've played. (On the PC)

I gave it up to Psychonauts. For PS2 Dragon Quest 8 or Resident Evil 4 (haven't played SoC yet). Also God of War should be up there.

I haven't played Psychonauts yet, I'll pick it up now because all of you seem to love it and will probibally get my ass kicked if I don't play it. But for the record GO CHAOS THEORY!

I think the first selection in polls should always be: No vote.
Too many ppl just pick the first thing and it skews the tally.

Revenge is ok, but other games on the list are way of more better. Revenge is earning some free votes from being the first pick.

Why is Psychonauts getting so many votes? Who played that game anyways?

People who vote for Psychonaughts over Stranger's Wraith make me sad. They are obviously cool enough to have class and good taste, it is just ashame they have not been exposed to Stranger's Wraith because that is the type of audience that would really appreciate it.

Meh I didn't play the PC version but the X Box one was freakin great. It was the first time in ALONG time that I felt like I was playing a new game. Thus my vote. INDIGO PH0R TEH W1N!

[spoilers for indigo prophecy]

I'd agree with Indigo Prophecy, except for one thing: The ending just sucked. It was awesome all the way into it with the whole Mayan gods, and everything happening in the background. Then we see the Artificial Intelligence dude. What the hell was the point of that? I would of liked to seen a bit more thought put into the MAyan gods and the sitory of it, all, rather than just skipping to an easy way out...Good game, highly innovative, but the ending/story was horrible.

I played Stranger's Wrath as well as Psychonauts, but I still voted for Psychonauts. Why? Because Tim Schaefer is a comedy goldmine, and I need to play more games that he is charge of. Psychonauts was flat-out hilarious in some spots, and I found myself smiling through the whole game when I wasn't laughing. Stranger's Wrath had some awesome moments, and it will surely be one of those Beyond Good & Evil type games that everyone remembers fondly (heck, they both will be). I'm sorry that they couldn't get the PS2 version's framerate up and EA borked the marketing because of it, but all that still doesn't make me love it more the Psychonauts. And, come on--the guy who did the voice of Invader Zim played Raz! That nerdy kid from Summer School starring Mark Harmon! How can you not love it?

And besides, Lorne Lanning is kind of an ass.

Naa... just wasn't blessed with the $$$ to get Stranger's Wrath.

Man, I don't think I played ANY of those games. No wonder my Xbox is covered with dust. Now that the semesters over maybe it's time to check some games out...

Chaos Theory FTW.

I will agree with you that Psychonaughts might have been a bit more "packed" with good moments. But I am voting for Stranger's Wraith because of the bigger picture. The game evolves remarkably as you play through it (especially in the last 1/3rd). And it is a game whose plot actually has political and philosophical significance. Granted, it doesn't necessary bring any incredible original revelations in either of these areas, but for a game to even be addressing issues like this is highly significant in my book.

I disagree with you on Lanning, though. He is always came off to me as someone that would like to see games evolve into something that were thought provoking and he has a very specific and cohesive ideological perspective from which all his games are crafted. How many other developers can you say that about?

From one Dan to another, I agree with you...oh and the graphics were real pretty, the game play was tight, and the art direction was superb, and the twist was cool. Not to mention the cut scenes, especially the first one! I didn't start playing the Oddworld games until Munches Odessey (SP?) on XBox, but I really enjoyed that game and am glad I picked up Stranger's Wrath. It is kind of sad they are not going to make any more games :(
