View Full Version : Capcom: More HD Remixes to Come

Based on the fact that SFII:THDR has sold like gangbusters, there will be more HD remixes (http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3173229) to come.

Capcom has produced Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix and a Puzzle Fighter 2 HD Remix, but they aren't finished with the nostalgic remakes yet, according to a report from Videogamer.com. "Are we done doing HD Remixes? No, we're not done," said Capcom's VP of business development Christian Svensson. "But the next ones that we do will be even better, based on what we've learned."

Svensson wasn't specific about which games will get a hi-def makeover, but he did say that they've taken notice of the fan requests. "[Marvel vs Capcom 2] would be great to do. There's definitely a fan base for it. It's probably our most requested title." Don't take that as a confirmation though. Svensson also said, "I wish I had news to share on that front, but I don't." Still, Capcom has been very responsive to the fan community recently, so if enough requests come in, they may see fit to do it.

If Marvel vs. Capcom comes out in HD remix form... I would be very happy.

Good news. MvC is not my cup of tea at all, but it would be great for the community. SF2HD Remix is awesome and great to play online and helped me save my money by being able to pass up SF4 (which is nothing special at all in my opinion).

I'd like to see them do smaller titles that MvC just to get them out more quickly.

I think the next obvious choice would be Darkstalkers and then use the sprites from those games to make the extended games, just like they did originally.

Darkstalkers HD will be oh so awesome. Yes please!

I'd like to see some of their old games redone though, such as Ghosts n' Goblins HD, Gunsmoke HD...good old arcade days. :)

What's their comment on the pixelized characters in the "HD" super puzzle fighter? I hope they are embarrassed by that enough to make sure it never happens again. Truly lazy, considering the game is fine in standard def., but they decided to snazzy it up and only went halfway.

MvC was good, MvC2 was better... but my poison is definitely X-Men:COTA. Iceman FTW.

LOL, the ONLY choice next is clearly third strike, maybe even CVS2 but not a darkstalkers game yet. Fighting Jam was bad enough!

MvC2 always had the crowd at an arcade I used to play at so that's what we all ended up playing and loving. My ps2 copy looks like it needs to go into indefinite retirement. Good times.

3S, MvC2, and CvS2 are the three I'd most like to see. In that order. This is great news. GGPO is nice but I enjoy the more diverse community you get on PSN/Live. Could this be part of the multi-game deal with GGPO that Capcom mentioned in the aftermath of the STHD release?

Anyways, MvC, yes please, but really, I think I can speak for all of us, without a single exception, when I say that what we are all waiting for is Cadillacs and Dinosaurs: HD Remix.

Oh man. I would *LOVE* a Third Strike HD Remix, but people are probably on Street Fighter overkill right now.
