Gamestop (http://www.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/everquesttheshadowsofluclin/news_6141131.html) is reporting that Everquest is getting another repackaging, this time labeled Everquest Titanium, which will contain the original game and first ten expansion pack. More interesting in this article is the announcment of a new website from SOE called EQ Players. This site will feature character profiles, item statistics and other game data for players of Everquest. Unfortunetly, Sony plans on charging a monthly fee for this service, in addition to the monthly fee players already pay for Everquest.
Seems like I could get the same thing from Allakhazam...
Speaking of EQ, where are those "EQ2 is way better than WoW!!" people now a days?

Cradling their broken dreams. Sort of like what I did after experiencing Horizons after three or four years of anticipation.

10 expansion packs?? I didn't know it was that bad. EQ is worse then the sims heh. And to think I left after Kurnark.
As for charging a monthly fee for that stuff.. thats a bit much, WoW does some of that for free and thottbott does the rest.

I used to have the EQ2 Players stuff. It's actually pretty cool and it's a small fee. You can get the 4 features together for $2.99 a month, or .99 each. The EQ stuff might be cheaper.

They are running out of recognizable valuable metals.
I'll wait for the Everquest Einsteinium pack.

Haha, Sony sucks. I don't play WoW anymore due to time, not the game (which I think is excellent), but I still read the patch notes. Every time I read something that's being added to WoW and sounds great, I always think, "Sony would charge for something that cool."
Because it's true.
Yes, I know Sony is a business, and the bottom line comes first. But there are ways to run a business that don't completely piss off your customer base. Sony puts customers satisfaction on the last rung of the priority ladder. The whole rootkit fiasco is a good example, but they've been doing it from Day One since they purchased Verant.

With Sony charging for such features, how long before they slap an injuncture on Alla?

Hey sony, maybe you should take a class on the internet because clearly you don't get it. I use allakazam and thottbot but the idea of paying for those services is obsurd. Then again I guess you guys let people buy gold so ....

They're busy playing the game. Say what you will about EQ2, but that game has gotten exponentially better over the past 12 months.
And if it's like EQ2Players, then there's more to it than just characters and profiles. EQ2Players lets you chat in your guild channel from a web browser if you're not in-game, has server and worldwide rankings, and a number of other little perks that make the few bucks a month worth spending. If it were just the stuff you could get on Ally or oGaming, then it would be a waste.
