Thanks to Next Generation (http://www.next-gen.biz) for the news (http://www.next-gen.biz/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1857&Itemid=2).
Canadian independent developer Digital Extremes has signed its PC and next generation third person shooter Dark Sector with D3Publisher.
Yoji Takenaka, executive vice president and COO for D3 said, "Our focus continues to be acquiring good, mass-market appeal licensed properties, and the acquisition of IP from selected developers designed for next generation machines. The opportunity to work with the world renowned design team that [DE head] James Schmalz has assembled at Digital Extremes is just too good to pass up. They have an outstanding reputation for gorgeous graphics, polished gameplay and high quality production values. We are very proud to be working with them on Dark Sector."
I remember watching the trailer for Dark Sector a while ago and thinking it looked pretty cool. Here's hoping it turns out to be worth the wait.

Ooooh so it is going to be on PC as well as consoles then! I loved the trailer with the magnetic hand thing and the thing that overode (sp) the robot thing. Lots of different things in the trailer! Oh and the guards armor that closed up around their faces looked good.

I don't remember any official trailers with xbox 360 officially on the end? The game was just "Next generation" and on IGN they said PS3, 360 and PC but they suck, they were just "spamming" platforms and would update later but this is official for PC as well as some/one next gen consoles which is what I was hoping for (PC version). If there is a better version on a different platofrm I will get that too, if I end p bothering with the next gen machines.

Yep, they appear to be desiging for both next-gen consoles, but are still up for sale as an exclusive.

Oh. No doubt I'd use the same language in a press release because in official stuff, you have to be professional to keep the investors happy. They want to know that the million dollars they spent on stock is not going to be spent on buying a bunch of T-shirt wearing Canadians who code for one hour a day and spend the rest on hockey sticks and maple syrup.
However, as a gamer, it doesn't get me ready to make me want to make sweet, sweet love to all of these publisher's products, and in fact leaves me tepid. That's okay though. . . I'm not the intended audience of a press release like that.
Luckily, the trailers I linked for Dark Sector ARE made for me as the intended audience, and I'm already picking out candles and creating a mix tape for me and Dark Sector's first night together. . . even though that date is still TBA.
I hope it goes to the X360 as well as the PC. I really, really want to try to wait for the PS3 to go down in price before purchasing it, and if this gets good reviews it might be a console-buyin' game.
