Second episode is up. We're talking about the digital bargain bin, specifically Steam’s deep discounted weekend sales and how they dramatically effect the movement of product.

Its a little better than it was... but still not great. New microphone, different location, still breathing sounds.

You guys need a concrete ending. Some kind of tag line or closure rather than: "erm, um...yea...so listen!"
Other than that I found it informative and easy listen to. I am more apt to listen to people speak when they don't use the word "Um" or "Erm" which I didn't hear any during the podcast.

Agreed on the ending. We'll work on it.
PS: To anyone looking for Zune marketplace linking, the show has been submitted, but it's not listed as of yet.

yeah, we're still working out some of the kinks. thanks for the feedback. it's important that we know what listeners like, and what they don't like.
I can't stand when NPR interviews people who constantly say "ummmm," and it makes me want to change the station immediately. Good to know we're not falling into that particular trap!!

I wish I had picked up Left 4 Dead during the weekend sale. I'm really tempted by UT3, but I have a ton of games now I'm not getting through. Has anyone picked up UT3 for the trial weekends. Is it any good? Do you foresee any longevity?

I should also mention that we're now on spokenword.org (http://www.spokenword.org/feed/3309), which has a slightly improved in-browser player (IMHO). Enjoy!

Some interesting speculation (http://arstechnica.com/gaming/news/2009/03/stocking-hardware-when-games-are-bought-online-why.ars) on the future of some of the stuff we talked about in this episode. Check it out.
