Last week, I alluded (http://evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=78968) to the existence of an official Evil Avatar podcast which would be announced this week. I'm happy to let you all know that user Ruumis and myself have collaborated and put together the first episode of Shotgun, Evil Avatar's New Official podcast. This was recorded last Wednesday, but we were not ready to post it at that time.

I've listened to a lot of Podcasts and I think that it was pretty good for a first podcast. I think Shotgun is the right length for what it covers. Don't be more than you need to be.

That's not really what Shotgun pellets look like on an x-ray. The beads are much smaller. A hand wouldn't really absorb and stop them. Condsidering that a short range blast (5~10 feet) to the gut you get a pretty good spread from front to back with a small amount of them passing all the way through (Depending on the tissue it hits).


Sorry... I work for radiology company and it was the first thing I thought of when I saw the image.

hmm I cant stop thinking of rock paper shotgun when I see the title. You should rename it to evil avatar pain-pump ... with attitude and then add some actual attitude. So then youd be different from all the other podcasts that have no actual attitude.

No promises, but Ruumis and I did discuss this. If it happens in normal conversation, we're not going to bleep it, but we're not aiming for shock value. Additionally, if we catch ourselves cursing too much in any given episode, we'll flag it appropriately.

It was my microphone, and that breathing was actually coming out of my nose. I've picked up a new one so hopefully this will be resolved by next episode. Just consider this as one of those things we've got to iron out. If that's the only complaint (well, this and the shotgun to the hand image), then I think we're doing pretty good.

yeah, it's the only complaint i have. excellent show. well done other than that.

I haven't listened yet, but to me nothing says "amature" more than a podcast with a bunch of foul mothed contributors. With so many gaming podcasts out there, many of them being just general nerd talk that you would have with any one of the random nerds you find in an electronics store, I think ti's important to attempt to sound as professional as possible.

I'll listen to it once I get off work.

Well I like a relaxed BS session on a podcast. If i want news, I'll read the news, what I want to do is hear other people's opinions on games and game related activity. Bad language doesn't bother me at all, especially when it's used to add emotion or enforce a point. I can't wait to hear it later.

I guess, if that's what you're going for, but with nearly every single games related web page having a "relaxed BS session" podcast, I'd think there would need to be something of note necessary to stand out. Either you have to be extraordinarilly funny or charismatic, or have extremely good production value and quality of product.

I think you guys should add a third person to create a more group feel to it. A girl gamers perspective would be nice as well, as my wife is a casual gamer who I occasionally like to surprise with something she might like.
