Blizzard is working on a new content patch for Diablo II and wants your input (http://forums.battle.net/thread.html?topicId=15443288961&sid=3000&pageNo=1) on the one thing you'd most like to see included in the patch.

We’re in the process of working on Diablo II content patch 1.13, and we want to try to include the Diablo community’s most important changes in our production schedule. To achieve this we’re asking for your input on what you’d like to see in this patch. However, we’re making it a bit stricter than a full-blown wish list.

If you were to get an advance look at the patch notes for Diablo II 1.13, what is the one patch note you would want to see?

Our goal is to get an overall sense of the single most important request from every member of the community. We want as many posts as we can get for the largest cross section, so if you have friends who used to play Diablo II or just don’t frequent the forums as much as you do, let them know this is here so we can get their “#1 patch note” too.

Please be mindful that we’re not going to be able to make every change mentioned, but hopefully with your feedback we can prioritize and do our best to cover as much as possible.
Thanks, Kotaku (http://kotaku.com/5164460/blizzard-still-working-on-diablo-ii-wants-your-input).

After reading as much of that thread as a man who takes blood pressure medication can be expected to stand I'm throwing my hat in with the resolution scaling crowd, 800x600 is so last century.

I seriously doubt they would do it, but I'm holding out hope after they scaled up from 640x480 with the expansion pack.

yeah, a better resolution would be great, I have it installed on my Pc but rarely play it because it looks like crap.

Come to think of it, yeah, that's probably the reason I don't play anymore.

Low rez is the main reason I cant play it anymore. You guys ever use the fanmade patch for the old fallout games and run them in crazy high resolutions? It looks fantastic at 1680x1050. If blizzard doesn't give us more resolution options, then this entire thing was a fucking farce.

Oh and by the way, is this Blizzard's way of saying Diablo III: more far off than you think?

I'm hoping is Blizzards way of tucking me in at night on Christmas Eve

Heck, this goddamn patch will take 2 years to make, forget Diablo 3, you're all too fucking old to *survive* it.

The graphics were shockingly dated when I saw it again at Blizzcon. But, these are sprites-based graphics, and low res in its original. Even hi-res Doom doesn't look significantly better, except that the polygons got a lot better. In a pure-bitmap game like this, I'm not sure it would do too much except made things blurry like the N64 days.

I'd go for a widescreen res patch.

Other than that, some other synergy that I'll never use would be awesome possum as well.

Low res was the reason I stopped playing... 800x600 on a 26inch LCD? no thanks!

It's funny, everyone here wants higher resolutions, while everyone on the Battle.Net forum wants real changes.

8 player coop would be compelling

A better resolution probably isn't what they were hoping for when it comes to suggestions. I'm too cynical, so this just seems like blatant pumping for information. This is like a funzo scheme.

Diablo 2 is a classic. There is no reason to significantly alter the fundamental game.

We want Star Wars: Digitally Remastered, Surround Sound, Hi-Def, Blu-ray Edition, not Star Wars: Special Edition.

One is a beautified version of our cherished memories, the other is a disgusting reanimated corpse of a once beloved.

Enhanced Resolutions (wide screen monitor anyone?) and the ability to respec your character often (how about with some gold, or just any time I want?).

Real support for Win64. I mean, i had a friend that installed his copy of Diablo 2, and tried to run the .exe to no avail. Then, 10 minutes later, while doing something else, his screen went black, and all of the sudden, the game started up. While i don't use Vista64, they should at least fix this issue.

While that would be nifty fix, you would really blow your ONE fix to D2 on improving 64-bit compatibility?

I'm sure your friend to fiddle with the .exe's compatability settings in Vista64 to get things running a bit better.

Seems like an obscure fix to move to the #1 spot.

I don't know how many of you guys know anything about the inner workings of diablo II; but the game is STILL an incredibly, incredibly buggy mess. Most of these bugs have *known fixes*, simple text changes, but blizzard hasn't bothered to update them. There are a bunch of people (mostly in The Amazon Basin and the Lurker Lounge) whom should probably be in the forefront of handling this patch, instead of purely blizzard. As they know the game mechanics better than blizzard does. (Sad as that sounds.)

I want a legit maphack option.

Yes, maphack. I'm sorry but I've played D2 off and on since it's release almost 9 years ago. I've played it and it's expansion so many times, I shouldn't have to get fucking lost in the bizarre acid trip randomness of Act 3 any more. Fuck, I'll pay for a legit option to be patched in so I don't have to worry about cd keys getting banned all the time.

No I don't bot, use tppk or any other game enhancing hacks. I simply like to know where the hell I am going. That's it. Let me see the "world" map for what it is. After almost a decade, we shouldn't have to wander like mindless noobs through acts, stumbling upon waypoints as if they saved our lives ;\

I just want the shared stash, and I think that will be the easiest to implement. As there is no very good trading system.
