For anyone who says that the ESA is worthless, think again. Apparently they are not just increasing, but doubling the number of scholarships (http://www.gamespot.com/news/blogs/sidebar/909182374/26799513/esa-doubles-scholarship-efforts.html?part=rss&tag=gs_news&subj=6205509) given out each year.

As the deepening global economic crisis continues to deteriorate the job market, common wisdom dictates that now is a good time to be in school. The Entertainment Software Association is adding one more incentive to higher learning, announcing today plans to offer 30 scholarships to women and minority students interested in entering the field of game development.

The 30 scholarships mark a dramatic upscaling in the ESA's scholarship program, which has handed out 15 scholarships in each of its first two years in operation. This year, high school students will be eligible to receive the grants, which were previously available only to full-time attendees of a four-year college or university.

$3,000 isn't alot for college anymore, but every little bit counts.

I wonder how many people the ESA fucked over with their stupid politics to generate that $3k.
