Once more from the rumorang (http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3173042).

Another developer has stepped up to give credence to recent PSP 2 rumors, reports Eurogamer. An anonymous development source close to Sony claims that the system will contain a sliding screen that covers most of the controls. The system width will be slightly wider than the screen, but "significantly smaller" than the current PSP iterations due to the slide-screen. However, the source claims that the shoulder buttons will still be accessible in its closed state, so games that rely on them (like Loco Roco) will be playable. The report claims that Sony is working with developers to create more shoulder button-based games for the new device to take advantage of the functionality. The system in its closed state is also said to support media playback such as movies and music.

I still won't buy a second version of a game system I already own.

Give it motion capability like the iPhone/iPod Touch.

More likely to be another iteration of the existing product ("PSP-lite"). Before there is a true PSP2 they will need to be able to get a lot more processing power for the size.

Because if there's one thing the PSP needs, it's more games that rely on the shoulder buttons as a central mechanic. THAT ought to turn people's heads.

"Some analysts say that to get back to where Sony once was, it needs to get out of areas where it significantly lags behind competitors. Among the areas where Sony now lags competitors are in game consoles and digital music players."

Music players maybe, but the console race is not over yet. 23% of the market share is definitely 3rd place, but its nothing to scoff at. Its like saying apple should stop making computers because they only have 9% of the market share.

No way I'll buy another revision of a system I already own either. I own a PSP 2000 and I love it. I think PSP2 will have motion support and/or touch screen. Imagine Loco Roco with motion support. That would be sweet.
