well i guess its not as bad here, i'm really confortable in my room listening to some moby and trying to finish a college homework so i can play with my 360.

Is it just me, or does hardware capability really matter that much at this point? Is there likely to be any vast vast disparity between the systems, and don't most people just want better games anyway? I mean, at some point, we're going to reach a graphics plateau, but gameplay (theoretically) will continue to advance.

why who's-hardware-is-better doesn't matter:

A) PS3 does not exist yet
B) Gameplay is still most important, look at Nintendos (sucessful) strategy.
C) NO GAMES currently use the real potential of next-gen systems. It's like having a 500 horsepower car and driving it at 30MPH down a rural road... who gives a fuck how powerful it is.

Before we can start dick-waving about hardware we need at least one game capable of showing off WHY we have all that hardware.

I think Sony should just go for the gold, and shove a drm on all their products that, if placed in an xbox, will cause it to aspload. Then, and only then, will they have my respect.

Its good the two systems are very close because games that come out across multiple platforms will shoot for the lowest denominator or atleast do things both systems can do. So then first party or exclusive system titles will showcase what each system does better and if you are a fan boy of one system than it really doesn't matter what th other system can do.

On a serious note - we feel that average consumers will not be able to tell the difference between PS3 and XBox 360. Its all going come down to the games.

So we have learned what we already knew: the 360 and PS3 will be the same powerwise. In otherwords, it's similar to the matchup between the PS2 and Xbox, only with better performance on both sides. Good, I expect to see some fantastic games from all three next gen consoles, just like we saw this past generation.
