The third and possibly final game in The Prince of Persia miniseries (The Sands of Time drama) was released this week, and has received strong reviews.

Gamespot (http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/action/princeofpersia3/review.html) gave it an 8.6.

The Two Thrones provides a satisfying conclusion to the Sands of Time trilogy, with a lot of the same puzzle solving and gorgeous environments you remembered from the previous two games.
IGN (http://ps2.ign.com/articles/672/672820p3.html) gave it an 8.8.

Two Thrones is great. The story is cool, the heroes are likable, the weak are pitiable, the villains are bastards, the major plot points are exciting, the art is grand, the sound is wonderful...and then the gameplay comes. The established Prince platforming is terrific! The new emphasis on acrobatics as a means to extend combat (and vice versa) is exactly where the series needs to go, too. But there can't be so much light without touches of darkness.
Team Xbox (http://reviews.teamxbox.com/xbox/1088/Prince-of-PersiaThe-Two-Thrones/p3/) gave it a 9.1.

If you’re a fan of the series, then Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones is a must buy. Those checking out the PoP franchise for the first time can do no wrong with Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones, but it’s probably better to start with Sands of Time if you’re more Disney than you are Miramax, or if you want to follow the storyline from day one.
I agree with Team Xbox's advise. This is a game for fans of the series who like the gameplay and jump puzzles of the PoP series. Also, you can pick up PoP:Sands of Time and PoP:Warrior Within for a sweet price at your local game seller. Get out there and escape fate already!

I wonder if it'll be 360 compatible. Anyone try it out yet?

Found the first two rather boring, probably try this one though just because I want to enjoy it.

Gabe on PA says its not BC right now, and I'm sure this has been posted about a week ago?

EDIT: If you didn't even enjoy SoT then I doubt you will find this enjoyable.

Well I like it but... for a short time. Ive tried to force myself to like it just because its so badass sometimes but that usually fails.

I just finished PoP: SoT and I loved it. It was the best platformer I have played since Lord know when. I kept thinking that this is what the Tomb Raider games should have played like.

I'm in the same boat as Suicidal ShiZuru. There were things I liked about SoT, and it was good fun at points, but I found it a bit repetitive and boring after awhile. Though I did finish it, and I really liked the characters, voices, story and all that.

This is a good game and a step away from Warrior Within back to the charm of Sands of Time. The prince has his English accent back, there's far less angst and mood, the game is still a little bit dingy (at the start) but it's clear that the POP team have made deliberate efforts to get back to the feel of Sands of Time.

The story wraps up quite well and the game challenge is pretty neat. I'd say Gamespot's comment of it being 12-15 hours to be somewhat generous. I think we're talking closer to 8-10.

The final boss fight is excellent and showcases all the great features of the game - combat (obviously), the stealth-kill mechanic and platforming (obviously). When you fight the first or last boss there's some great acrobatics played out as the stealth-kill controls kick in (they involve the Prince leaping around/on his foe with you hitting the attack button at the right moment - similair to God of War).

The Dark Prince sections are well done. You have to play them fast as your energy is constantly dropping but they're not as harsh as the 'run from the Dahaka' scenes in Warrior Within.

I really enjoyed playing the game - too much. It was over far too quickly but it was great fun whilst it lasted.

Those "Run from the Dahaka" scenes in Warrior Within were the best part of the game, and just about the only good parts of the game.

I'll be grabbing this one - as people have said, it apparently has more in common with SoT which was one of my favorite games released that year. (What beat it out was that other ubisoft title - Beyond Good and Evil). Warrior Within didn't carry over to well - is this one at the very least, not as buggy?

Agreed. I've had Warrior Within since last Christmas and I've only just now picked it up again, having shelved it shortly after starting it. The only reason I really want to finish it at this point is to find out where they went with the story before getting the latest installment. They really went the wrong way with this one, in my opinion. The original prince was a spoiled brat, who was still fun to play. The dialogue was witty, the story was good, the music amazing and the platforming excellent.. And the combat was a decent distraction between puzzles.

But, as often is the case with smash hit games, they sequelize them too quickly and focus on what (I think) isn't what people loved. What? People love dark, angsty (whiney) anti-hero type characters and 'hardc0re muzak', right? Bah.

I barely got anywhere, it seems, when I played it originally.. And having started over again, I know why. It lost a lot of its charm in the move to the new style. The dialogue is bad, the characters annoying, and the combat took the front seat over the platforming. I just hope they improved since Warrior.. The reviews seem to indicate it has. Time will tell.

I barely finished SoT, had no interest in part 2... really doubt I can bring myself to play this one either. Though I must admit, the art direction looks rather nice.

I found the Dahaka parts the worst in the second one. I suspect you cannot apease both types of gamers, which is why the game's levels change from forced time limit, to fighting to puzzle related and back again. I like the original the best, SOT second and WW last. Rent this one or wait for it to go on sale, it is not worth full price.

I loved SoT, but WW seemed to stray from the fun puzzles and made it more about fighting. I'm trying my best, but I cannot sit through WW. I really do not like it. But I want to finish it.

I feel the same way, but like you said, it's damned hard. I'd really just like to read up on the story before I play Two Thrones. The controls feel clumsy as hell and it seems like you're doing the same combo over and over again, despite how many are possible. The enemies attacks are certainly a repeat of the same 3 moves.
