CD Projekt RED has updated (http://www.thewitcher.com/community/en/news/837.html) the official Witcher website with three new screenshots (http://www.thewitcher.com/community/en/screenshots/latest/) from the upcoming console version of their highly acclaimed RPG, The Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf.

They say that a picture is worth a thousand words – in that case, this news is worth three thousand words or at least a bottle of beer :) You ask why ? Let me tell you – recently we’ve figured out that maybe it’s time to show the world what we are working on - otherwise it is likely that you are going to tear us to shreds. Because we got used to being alive and what’s more I’ve already made some plans for holidays, we have for you this year’s first set of screens from The Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf. Thanks, Voodoo Extreme (http://ve3d.ign.com/articles/news/45124/The-Witcher-Rise-of-the-White-Wolf-Screenhots).

Wow, I don't even recognize this as the same game I abortively tried to play on my aging saurian of a computer. Color me excited.

Day 1 purchase. I even bought the Enhanced Eddition and gave my first copy away to a nephew just to support them more.

Sigh no edit button. Its only released in the US on steam. Only way it seems like I can get it is via import (which is expensive).

You can use the Atari download thingie, like I did, and be eternally regretful. What an awful service they have...

This is one game I was tempted to upgrade my PC for. I guess I won't have to.

Edit: Why is everyone complaining about the lack of an Edit button? Look Ma! Edit button!

Only on steam? Meh I'll just get an import like I did with my first one.

If you've got to import it from anywhere at least get it from the UK or somewhere else in Europe. The US version is censored.

I'm a huge fan of this game (I gave it a 9/10 in PC Powerplay) but I am very dissappointed with the graphics for the console version. The PC version is significantly better than this updated version IMHO.

That said, I'm happy for more people to experience one of the best RPGs in recent years (I don't consider JRPGs in the same genre so please don't raise that gorgeous piece of gorgeousity called Persona ;)).

If you are being sarcastic I made mention of this because I'd heard the visuals were getting a rework for Rise of the White Wolf (Keep in mind that the original The Witcher release was powered by a heavily modified version of the Aurora graphics engine from Never Winter Nights).

If you weren't being sarcastic then yes... the PC version looks considerably better in my eyes.
