By way of TechCruch (http://www.techcrunch.com/2009/02/14/ifart-v-pull-my-finger-the-court-case-of-the-century/), it has been learned that the most groundbreaking court case in the history of technology is being fought: that of the iFart app vs. the Pull My Finger app.
It’s rare for a genius to truly get satisfaction in his own time. Picasso was unappreciated until much later in life and Van Gogh died before receiving the notoriety he deserved. And so we meet Joel Comm, creator of iFart Mobile, who finds himself so decidedly under-appreciated and misrepresented in the realm fart programs for the iPhone that he is suing his closest competitor, Pull My Finger.
Mr. Comm, a well known web-marketer, describes how the company that makes Pull My Finger, Air-o-matic, asked for $50,000 for using the tagline “Pull my finger!” in some of his PR materials and on a YouTube video representing iFart Mobile. Long story short, now Comm is asking a judge to find that “pull my finger” is part of public domain, essentially shutting Air-o-Matic up with the legal system.
This was just so patently ridiculous iPhone App Store news I had to post it.

patently ridiculous
Hah! I see what you did there. Fart patents, indeed.

I actually chuckled. Good share.

The title and paragraph alone sound so ridiculous I can't bring myself to read the whole article.

Considering what a tool you must be to spend 2.4 million dollars on an iPhone case mod while families are getting evicted from their homes, I am sure he will.

I scowl at you and what your crew deems newsworthy. I hope there is a lot more comic and vg related news in your future to make up for this worthless drivel.

I thought it was funny, and it does cover an issue often discussed here: intellectual property rights.
Of course, if you would rather sit in your corner angry about what is considered "newsworthy" be my guest.
Also, as a regular forum member, you are more than welcome to submit news. This is a community first, and it always will be.
Edit: Also, do you visit these forums often? We are the best gaming news forum on the internet, and have one the best staff of moderators I have ever come into contact with. During high news traffic times (weekdays) the news moves quickly and there is a ton of it, so if a funny story that I think might make people smile comes about I am going to post it.

I just don't see how a fluffy tech piece falls under the purview of gaming news. I have a rather strict set of rules for what does.
Would you like three reasons?
1. These interactive toys can be considered games.
2. The iPhone/iPod platform is an emerging video game market. Costly litigation between developers could have significant effects on the shape and volume of future releases.
3. It's Saturday, a few fun pieces are welcomed by most.

Thankfully, if forums such as these, if a piece of news does not fancy your interest you don't have to read it. Reading it, and then talking about how much of a waste of time and space it is, are at best incongruous with one another, and at worst is just being rude to be rude.
Once again, we are a community- we hope you enjoy what we post and find it interesting, but we are not here to cater to your demands.

I fail to see how refusing to change for "your community" makes it such a great place. I was just pointing out what I thought was a flaw, I realize that you don't have to do anything, I just expect that you would make note of it.
