View Full Version : New Late Night Show To Be Videogame Friendly
Jimmy Fallon has stated that as part of his new job as host of Late Night he will be looking to grab us gamers with a big focus on new titles. The former SNL man will take over the show from March 2nd. From Canada.com (http://www.canada.com)
The new Late Night will be more "tech savvy" than other late-night talk shows, Fallon promises.
"We're going to treat a video game premiere as if it was a movie premiere. My generation grew up with the computer. We grew up with the Internet. We live in a video game type of world -- video games are second nature to us. Games make more money, as an industry, than the film industry.
Fallon goes on to discuss other technology related content that he will look to feature. More here. (http://www.canada.com/Entertainment/Will+late+night+fans+fall+Fallon/1335876/story.html)
This could actually lead to some cool interviews. Hopefully it will go down well with the masses.

Jimmy Fallon is taking over late night? That means that 15 minutes of the show will now be dedicated to him nervously laughing at his own jokes.
Hopefully he learns what "stage presence" is.

It will take a while for him to grow into it. One thing I'm not interested in, frankly, is watching Conan. I'm tired of his shtick...grabbing at his trousers and pulling on invisible strings, and the like. He's just not funny.
In fact, the funniest guy on late night television nowadays is Craig Ferguson. He's not teleprompter-driven and his humor comes from a much more improvisational style. It can be hit or miss, but it's genuinely funny when he's "on."

Jimmy Kimmel is the best talk show on TV right now. I doubt Fallon will even come close to his success.

I can't imagine having a guest like Ken Levine sit down for an interview on late night television. I mean that in a good way.

This could be great or terrible.
Either way I'm intrigued to see how it turns out.

Seconded. When he gets on a roll, no one can top him. Of course, some nights the show is a snooze-fest.
Actually I'm really intrigued by Jimmy being a late night host. I loved his Weekend Edition stuff on SNL. You could make a pretty decent drinking game out of bets on how many times he would laugh at his own jokes.

Took Conan awhile to find his late night legs. He got killed in reviews for a year. Then he hit his stride with the 90s college crowd.

My thoughts exactly....though I guess that is is "shtick".

I'm guessing they'll let on Jade Raymond and Cliffy B. and that'll be it. Most other people in the game industry aren't quite TV friendly, though personally I loved seeing Will Wright on Colbert.

I can't stand Jimmy Kimmel. Give me Letterman followed by Conan. Hopefully Conan will make the Tonight Show watchable.
Again, thanks to those other sites who stopped by.
