Proving that arcades may not be dead but possibly still in their own special hearse as a new business has sprung up in the Houston area offering a delightful mobile gaming experience.

The Games2U Mobile Game Theater is an alternative for birthday parties as well as corporate and community events. The Mobile Game Theater features a state-of-the-art sound system and laser light show, allowing up to 20 players to play simultaneously. Games2U also brings outdoor laser tag right to your door and can be played during the day or night.

“Games 2 U will bring smiles to kids of all ages and parents will love the idea that we bring the party to your doorstep” says Eric Levis, owner of the G2U franchise in the Houston area. “Not only do we offer a new and exciting way to have a birthday party for the kids, church groups, schools, and corporate companies, are booking us like crazy, too”, Levis said.

If you are in San Diego, Orange County, Columbus OH, or Phoenix, there is a company called Game Truck that has a similar service.

The owner is a very good friend of mine and was actually the general manager for Rainbow Studios (Motocross Madness, ATV OffRoad Fury, Splashdown, MX vs. ATV, Cars, Deadly Creatures, etc) until around 2006 (he was there starting in the late 90's).

I live right on the outskirts of Kingwood (it's an annex about 30 minutes north of Houston proper) and this is the very first I have heard of this. They definitely need to advertise more.

At their estimated $199/hour for just the game truck (8-16 people) and no laser tag, it would be much cheaper to just book a block of time at a gaming center which are all over the place here. G2U's services might be great in a less tech-savvy area that doesn't have gaming centers except G2U has very few locations right now and they all look like they're in heavy urban areas that would have LAN centers at least.
