Killzone 2 Limited Edition Collector's Box Revealed

There has been some serious speculation regarding the lack of a Special Edition for Sony's blockbuster exclusive Killzone 2. Well, Evil Avatar brings you these exclusive (if pathetically shot) pictures of the Limited Edition Collector's Box of the game.

The exclusive content? None I'm afraid. The Collector's Box is a steelbook edition of the game with a plastic slip covering and a branding free image printed on the special box. Upon opening the package you will find no more than any other version of the game. A few leaflets, the manual and your prized Blu-ray disk.

This is a European PAL version of the game and it is unconfirmed as to whether or not this will be available for North American players. One Australian outlet was promising steelbook editions for those who pre-ordered. This special edition does not carry any additional cost.

I think they spent most of their load on tying the stuff normally reserved for "collector's editions" to the collectables within the game. I'm able now to download e.g. an exclusive KZ2 screensaver.

The box is cool looking, but I'm curious what incentive anyone has to get this stuff. Does anyone really care about the Killzone mythos that much? Not that I don't love free stuff, especially when it has to do with video games, but I don't see the appeal for this game. (Not the game itself, just the stuff that comes with the pre-order)

I like my shiny new steelbook edition. I like the game on the disk even more. Absolutely amazing.
