View Full Version : SEGA confirms OutRun 2006: Coast 2 Coast

SEGA has confirmed many rumours by officially announcing OutRun 2006: Coast 2 Coast to be released on PS2, PSP and PC.

Strangely the game is not planned for release on the Xbox, the platform the previous OutRun game was released on. The game will feature 30 stages, including the best of those found in OutRun2 and OutRun2 SP (the arcade version). There will be a new mission structure, license mode, six player online racing, and twelve licensed Ferraris including the all-new F430 and the dazzling Superamerica

That's an .... odd selection of consoles to release it on. Zero Xbox love at all? Guess it's really just targetting Japan then (yet no Gamecube port either).

Woo! PC!

I can play my 1989 version of Outrun for PC, and then play this one to see what looks better.

Maybe I'll have to buy me a 360 contoller though, to get the proper gamepad experience.

Maybe you shouldn't analyze this so much... Out Run 2 came out on Xbox earlier this year. This version seems like it has added a bit, but not enough to make Xbox owners pay twice.

Outrun would be fun on the PSP, if it was cheap. The other formats just have way too many competing games.
