This team certainly has potential, but I don't understand how they managed to mess up a game produced exclusively for the PS2 so badly with all the graphical glitches and what not Killzone had.

Whoopty-shit... they got a half-assed dev house. Good for them <.<

Killzone was fun, but seriously I think this is a poor investment, Killzone 2 will be pretty, but it wont be great.

I think it's hilarious how Killzone was by all accounts nothing but a mediocre game, yet with one 3 minute or so movie, Guerialla has moved up to the position of star developer and Bungie rival. Sony sure is banking a lot on KillzonePS3, a game that doesn't even exist yet. (contrary to still widely held belief, Guerilla hasn't, at last information, even started work on Killzone PS3, and instead have been working on the REAL Killzone 2 which is a PSP game...)

I think Sony SHOULD be purchasing more dev houses. Microsoft has done it and it's mostly paid off for them...with Bungie anyway. If Killzone 2 turns out to be amazing (and for some reason I'm thinking that the new hardware will make them create a better game this time around) Sony's purchase becomes highly worth it. Even if the game sucks but they hype it enough, it can be worth it.
Now they just need to purchase Insomniac, Sucker Punch, and Naughty Dog.

Doesn't Sony already own Naughty Dog? From their website:
"In 2001 Naughty Dog became a wholly owned subsidiary of Sony Computer Entertainment"

Okay, I'm retarded. I guess I didn't know that. Who else does Sony own?

Not sure. I thought they owned Harmonix, but I just checked their website and they claim to still be independent. They should pick up Insomniac and Sucker Punch, but I think those studios want to remain independent too (understandable). Personally, if I was Sony and had a lot of money to blow, I'd grab Level 5 -- those guys rock.

Level 5...you mean the next SQUARESOFT!? Yes, they would be a fine, FINE purchase. And a smart one. Either that or Square should swallow them. But I'd rather have Sony own the poor guys than let Square potentially corrupt them.

I just bought a PS2 and Killzone, and the game is fun, but dear lord the framerate is TERRIBLE!
