FF8 RPG help

I am looking to start up a RPG project and I was hoping to get a game that would have the graphics of FF8 done. I tried finding what engine FF8 used but couldn't find it. I am hoping that there is something out there I can use that would be free or easy to get but I get what I get. I am looking to make this for the pc. Does anyone have any suggestions.

I guess I'm not sure what your looking for. You know the Final Fantasy 8 was released on the PC right? As far as what engine Squaresoft used, it was a proprietary engine created in-house.

I am looking for something to make an rpg on that would resembles FF8. The graphics I don't really care other then it be 3D. I am just looking at something that would be easy to make a turn based rpg that has ff8 type graphics.
