While we had previously announced (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7691) the Unreal Engine 3 title, Roboblitz, for Xbox Live 360's Arcade, Total Video Games has posted word (http://www.totalvideogames.com/news/Two_New_Games_Announced_For_Live_Arcade_8973_0_16. htm) that a second title has been announced for Arcade in 2006, Streamline Studios, HoopWorld.

The second title, HoopWorld, from Streamline Studios, sees six players take part in three vs., three action, where the more ‚showboating’ with a ball is done, the greater the points awarded.

While basketball isn't really my thing I am excited to see developers already jumping on board the live arcade distribution model.

Despite all the horrible reports about how expensive it will be to develop games for the next generation consoles, it really looks like Live Arcade is giving indie and budget developers the chance to make games without going bankrupt. This is a great thing, and hopefully we'll see some real creativity in some of these. I wouldn't be surprised if whatever the next Katamari Damacy is comes from some unknown developer on Live.

I'm so addicted to Live Arcade. I've downloaded lots of games for it already. I will no doubt get these too. I'm a sucker for cheap easy to get into games I guess :(

I hope live arcade gets lots of attention.

Despite all the horrible reports about how expensive it will be to develop games for the next generation consoles, it really looks like Live Arcade is giving indie and budget developers the chance to make games without going bankrupt.

it is interesting that at the very point indie development was meant to become untenable - according to the industry 'pundits' - it's probably going more mainstream than ever. i've downloaded and loved a load of popcap games, and recently invested some 40-odd hours in fate. casual+indie = teh winz.

also, if there's going to be something to kill off the revolution, this will be it. if *** really means business in the gaming world, the mighty N is the company to aim at. and these small, simple, cheap, easy to get games seem ideal for 'broadening the market' and all that jazz. one of the main problems with this being that the people you would like to aim this at are going to be the ones least likely to use it - because they're gonna be the ones buying the 'core' systems  i really think having 2 SKUs is a stupid mistake. not necessarily huge, but stupid. the best thing about consoles is the commonality of the hardware! idiots!
