Battlegrounds
Battles must now last at least ten minutes after the start of the battle in order for the losing team to receive a Mark of Honor.
World
New quests for the Feast of Winter Veil have been added! See your Smokywood Pastures customer service representative in Ironforge and Orgrimmar for more details!
The level of many of last year's Feast of Winter Veil quests have been adjusted so that reputation rewards are available in their full amount for players of all levels able to do them.
Fixed a bug with both versions of the quest "A Smokywood Pastures' Thank You!" that was sending mail out immediately rather than on the intended delay.
In a startling discovery, Mistletoe sold on last year's vendors is now named "Fake Mistletoe". A Smokywood Pastures spokesman was quoted as saying, "Sorry, no refunds."
Some of the Southsea Dock Workers that were working under the boat should now be much more accessible to players.
Andre Firebeard no longer has a chance of dropping a Wastewander Water Pouch.
All OOX Distress Beacons are now multi-drop; everyone in a group should be able to receive one if it drops.
Fixed a bug with Oglethorpe Obnoticus' gossip where he was being much more familiar with strangers than he should have been.
General
Various preparations added to the client for Patch 1.9.

For those of you interested, it's been confirmed that you simply do not get marks of honor for losing, no matter how long the round lasted. I guess QA forgot to test this 'minor' change. Taken from this WoW general forum thread (http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.aspx?fn=wow-general&t=6127926&p=1):
This is a known issue and QA is on it.I'm not sure how reassuring that is, but I don't really play Battlegrounds that much to begin with.

The Alliance on my server (Gorefiend) almost always lose AV, AB and WSG. No point in playing those until they patch the patch...

Reading through this almost makes me want to sign up again. . . oh wait. I got to level 60 and can only stand Raiding 4 hours per week in instances I've been through 100's of times before.
Nevermind.
I'm looking forward to the expansion pack though.

The Alliance on my server (Gorefiend) almost always lose AV, AB and WSG. No point in playing those until they patch the patch...Does Alliance win conistently on any server? On Sageras Alliance PUGs get slaughtered wholesale I would estimate 95% of the time. It's like a freak event when Alliance wins AV in particular... Raids do a bit better, but not by much.
I don't care what anyone says, this game fucking rules. I'd rather play it than anything on 360 (for now).
Bring on 1.9 and the Burning Crusade.

Being lvl60 sucks. Unless you get off on repetition. Leveling an alt is always an option though but once you hit 60 with a character the game loses about 70% of its appeal.

I've always been able to download the WoW patches without problem. But this time the WoW installer is giving me issues telling me I might be behind a firewall. Anyone else having this problem?

I always get my patches off of Fileplanet, ten times faster and easier. I am subscribed though so the public servers might be slow.

I couldn't agree more.
My experience in the battlegrounds is limited to a few battles in WSG during my 20s. The alliance was slaughtered everytime. I play a Dwarven hunter on Elune. I am 38 now and I am tempted to give it another try but I fear the results would be the same. No coordination or teamwork between the Alliance players leads to defeat each time. I doubt it is any different on the horde side as far as teamwork and coordintation go. That said, I have played six battles, my side has lost each time, and I have received a mark of honor each time (or at least I've received something to turn into the battlemaster in Ironforge).
I get all my patches from fileplanet. The patcher tonight sat there for 5 minutes and did nothing. In those same five minutes, I was able to download 75% of the patch from fileplanet.

I agree 100%. I had a ton of fun with WoW, but once I got to level 60 the game got old really fast. I didnt have enough time to spend doing the high level instances over and over and while making a bunch of alts was fun, once you get to around level 20 or so and it starts taking longer to level it just gets boring doing the same quests again. Plus the server I was on (Terenas) always seemed to have a lot of problems with extra downtime and stuff like that, so leaving the game wasnt all that hard of a decision.
I'm looking forward to the expansion, because it might be the only thing that gets me interested again.

I agree with Zeal. Weird. And I just triggered the ports listed for the Donwloader in the support section of WoW's site, it worked pretty well and fast.

Yup, I've got all my ports open too and haven't any issues before until this patch. Hopped onto fileplanet and had it dl'd in a minute.
No coordination or teamwork between the Alliance players leads to defeat each time.
I've played BG's extensively on both sides, Horde on Mannoroth with my old UT guild organized on Ventrilo (we kicked ass), and as an Alliance on Dark Iron. Coordination is king, and even if only a handful of members in the raid are on the same page, it increases your chances of winning exponentially. I've won maybe 3/20 pug's on Alliance, but those three times there was a designated leader who kept things coordinated.
Join with some guildmates. People usually will follow you if they see even a few are organized.
