View Full Version : Mega Man Powers up on PSP in 2006
Capcom has announced that Mega Man Powered Up is to be released for the PSP across PAL territories on March 24, 2006.
Mega Man Powered Up is a completely revamped version of the original Mega Man which appeared on the NES. The game features a completely redesigned look and feel, combined with a host of new gameplay options. Mega Man and other characters in the game have been redrawn and now feature big cartoon style heads. Every level has also been given a new lick of paint, with a vibrant colour palette to take advantage of the PSP's screen. The original level structure has also been modified with new item locations, challenges and two new Boss characters, each complete with newly designed stages.

Don't forget about Mega Man Maverick Hunter X for the PSP in early '06. (hopefully)
You get to play as Vile and there is a small anime movie, once you beat the game.

Wait a second, you mean to tell me that there is going to be a Megaman game next year?
That's like announcing that 2006 will see a new Madden title. :p

The original NES game is included, thank god. The art direction in this makes me want to claw my brain out through my eyes.

Yeah, you ever play that Final Fantasy 7? Such an awful game.

I just don't get Capcom sometimes. They love their remakes, that's for sure. But why remake the original Mega Man? Why remake RE1 for the DS? The effort they put into each one could just as easily go into making an original game that would take better advatange of the hardware they're being remade for.

Ah, but from what I remember they weren't cartoon heads! Ah, shit I forgot about windwaker. I retract my previous statement.

They probably want a new generation of gamers to discover the awesomeness that is Mega Man. Whilst I generally don't endorse ports (especially inferior ones), I'll always be there to support Mega Man and his never-ending quest against the menace that is Dr. Wily!
Yeah!

Too little too late, just sold my PSP. Not a single good RPG, all I see is a bunch of arcade games. And the $30 UMD movies? PSP = failure on Sony's part.

I don't know... the whole idea of the mega man level editor sounds pretty cool. Especially since you can swap them over the internet.

I am sorry, but a remake just doesn't excite me... why can't they come up with an original new IP?

Yeah, I'm more excited about the Megaman X remake than this kiddied version of the original.

I'm more excited for the Mega Man X compilation than this...

But...
We already know that his quest against Wily is definitely finite; neither character exists in the X series, and they've been hinting at the bloody story that takes place in-between...
So, yeah.
