Video game critics take aim at cannibalism

WASHINGTON - Video games glamorizing guns and violence have long drawn the ire of media watchdog groups. This holiday season, they say they have found a bloody new wrinkle to hate: cannibalism.

Games featuring graphic scenes of cannibalism, "F.E.A.R." and "Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse," were among the 12 "games to avoid" listed Tuesday by the National Institute on Media and the Family.
A game about zombies depicting acts of cannibalism?! This time those monsters have gone too far!

Be glad it isn't an Ice Age beginning since the Earth is more often covered in ice than is subject to higher temperatures. Remember, Texas was once the location of a sea... Oh no Im a terrible parent. I got my 9 year old son Stubbs for Christmas and DarkWatch. I guess Im going to have a serial murderer for a son in a few years with all his deep issues relating to those 2 damn video games!

Truth is if your a good parent and have a good relationship with your child, no video game is going to influence them in a negative way that leads their life down a distraught path. Most peole that complain about this are looking for a scapegoat. They should look at their parenting skills rather than blame games.

I can't remember what the exact quote was, but I remember hearing that an anthropologist had a discussion with a cannibalistic tribe. In this discussion, the anthropologist described some of the wars that were fought between "civilaized" nations and the tribesmen thought that the loss of human life was abhorent. They could never justify killing so much more than they could possibly eat and the cannibals thought that the pointless loss of life was a greater sin then they had ever heard of.
