View Full Version : Apple Under Attack for iPhone DRM

The Electronic Frontier Foundation has pushed hard for an exemption on jailbreaking the Apple iPhone, allowing people to install and run applications of their choice that don't come from the official App Store. Now, Apple has responded with a ringing defense of DRM and its business practices, siding with groups like the MPAA and RIAA against exemptions.

I love the iPhone, but refuse to buy one due to the Draconian DRM that Apple chooses to employ.

Also, for the record, the fact that the MPAA, the RIAA, and Apple are all banding together makes Apple seem quite sleazy.

I like the iPhone, but the closed platform is really choking the stuff that ends up in the app store. I jailbroke mine and have been extremely happy with the results.

How can you love the iPhone if you don't own one? That aside the App Store is awesome, and it isnt very expensive. You are just missing out because you got no money.

Calling someone a nerd via a thread at a gaming news site is about as hypocritial as someone calling another person a nerd in the trade channel on any given WoW server.
