Without further ado, Fox has released the X-Men 3 trailer (http://www.apple.com/trailers/fox/x3/) for your viewing pleasure.

Not too bad. I think I saw Colossus walking with the group one of the scenes. Juggs doesn't look too bad and was that Jean Grey walking with Magento and his Brotherhood of Evil Mutants at the very end?

TheDancinMan

No, it was Jean Grey walking around with Magneto in the very end and in the forest scene.

Colossus = God.

Looks like it could be OK. You can definitely tell that it isn't a Singer movie, and for me that's a downside, but we'll see whether it turns out good in the end.

It's still got that cast, though, so it would be pretty hard for it to be less than decent.

Eh, they showed jean about a billion times in the trailer. People familiar with the storylines can probably gather something from the fact she is dressed head to toe in crimson(when not running around in shorts and a tank top blowing off doors).

Is that the same cyclops? Looked like it might be a different actor.

Mmmm... Famke Janssen in tiny shorts.
That's my ticket right there.

Other than that, the trailer did seem to have a layer of cheese on it, but, worst-case-scenario, I'm sure it'll still be a really fun action movie with some nifty effects.

Colossus = God.

That's not Colossus...that's The Proletarian baby! Heh. Anyone else remember that old Uncanny story in Arcade's Murderworld? We finally got the chance to find out if Wolverine's claws could harm the big guy. Great memories.

We're all just waiting to see Dark Phoenix (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_Phoenix_Saga) :-)

I'm very skeptical of most superhero movies but this trailer I liked.

Blue Beast! And not that cheesy cat thing they have in the comics now, the second one! And hot pants! Wow! So this is Dark Pheonix? I missed Jean in her red outfit.

God damn stupid sites and their bullshit designs, there a site I can actually see the trailer without streaming nonsense?

EDIT: My post count is awesome.

EDIT2: I know Keck, I'll have to keep editing this post for all future posts. I shall provide links to the topic with my snarky replies, this post will be my new home.

And it isn't Quicktime, it's the fact it's streamed Quicktime, something I've never managed to get my Quicktimes to do.

Looks pretty decent, and I'm glad they didn't do beast as that cheezy cat-thing that's in the comics now, but I'm still having a tough time with the fact that it's Kelsey Grammer. But hey, Famke Janssen and Halle Berry... so yep, they'll get my money.

Kitty looks good, but Beast looks like shit... It's not the actor's fault, he's perfect for the role, but the costume designers and make-up artists for Beast need to be exiled from the movie industry.

BTW: Did anyone else mistake Dark Phoenix and Pyro for Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver? :p Had to go back in pause mode to figure out who they were.

they said Nightcrawler would not be back. Only because there was no practical use for him in this story. They said the same thing for Gambit...that when they can actually fit some story element around it, they'd introduce him.

LOL Thank you.. I'm glad I wasn't alone in thinking Juggernaut looked like something out of He-Man.

This movie is striking me on a very strange chord. I want.. so.. so badly to love it. I loved the previous two, the second one in particular. Yet this movie is filling me with nothing but dread. I don't know what trailer everyone else saw. I wish I saw it. I hated the one I saw :P It looks like it might have some nicer special effects but a) there was too much storm, b) I detest Beast's makeup and costume, c) Juggernaut looking very un-Juggernautish

I won't even get into the rumored storyline. This movie makes me sad. :(
I'd love to be proven wrong. Just.. ugh.

Ya, they fucked Juggs hard... Which is a shame, because he's one of my favorite characters.

As for the story... from what I can tell, it's a combination of Generic-Magento plot, the first six issues of Astonishing (Whedon), and the Dark Phoenix Saga.

The director has officially said he will not be in the movie because he didn't want to betray Gambit fans. He said he didn't have a cool way to introduce him.

All I'm saying is that if they make a movie with Apocolypse, they better have Gambit, or I will stick Avi Arads balls in his mouth.

Hell yeah! If you look at it frame by frame you definitely see Colossus and Wolverine in all their fastball special glory! My only complaint is Juggernaut kinda looks like a Masters of the Universe reject and there's no sign of the coolest X-man of all, Nightcrawler!

I'm not familiar with Astonishing, is this an Angel story? "The Cure" is definitely part of it. That is why we have Beast in blue, and that is why we have Magneto barking about a cure. Dark Pheonix of course.

These two stories are excellent, and should make for a great movie. I'm not feeling dissapointment like some of you. Did you want a ridiculously huge Juggs that looked like the Hulk? He would have had to have been CGI = bullshit.

Mav

Personally, it was a huge, huge let down. Juggernaut has been reduced to just a very very small sized musclar guy (with barely any musle to distinguish him from say Colosus). He also has no magical abilities no crystal, his "mutant" power is to control kenetic force so nothing can stop him once he is moving. They completely botched his origin. Grade so far, -F

Beast was, "decent". He has some action scenes so we'll have to see how those pan out but so far just sitting around in normal clothes, he looks alright. Not the best it could have been, he really needs more fur and a slightly lighter shade of blue but it's passable. Grade so far, still -F (Juggernaut took a huge chunk out of this flick)

No Nightcrawler, Rogue still has no powers yet. No Gambit. No Psylocke (though she wasn't rumored to be in the film, fans hoped ya know). I was counting on Gambit, Wolverine is great but he needs the ragin Cajun to go pun for pun with him.

I thought before when they announced X3 and the cast of villians/heros "ok it can still be decent". Then I realized how rushed the Phoenix Saga arc is the way the did it (come on at least they could have had Jean "die" in X2 via radiation...). Major characters die, and this is probably the last X-Men film of the franchise, with "maybe" a single Wolverine spinoff movie a few years down the road.

This one, is not a theater purchase folks, I recommend a download here. If you are a fan of the heros in spandex this is outta complete left field from X2. Obviously having Singer do Superman Returns (which also looks like ass, thanks to superman wearing fucking burgandy instead of red) was a bad choice.

Here's to hoping Spiderman 3 will blow us away with Spidey vs Venom, that's basically all we have to look forward too in terms of good comic book movies.

"All or nothing." Some of us thought Hulk was good. Sure the story was average but the CGI was pretty good. Little iffy in some spots but overall it was great.

A fucking tiny Juggernaut is not acceptable. Either give us a 12 foot Juggernaut in full armor that's not wearing some cheesy gimped Magneto ripoff helmet who is fueled by mystical magicks not some lame Mr. Strong type ripff or don't give us Juggernaut at all.

It's a disgrace to the character, plain and simple.

Alot of comic characters are hard to translate on to film. I think they did an ok job with the hulk. He is a step in the right direction. Jugg ..... himmmm..... I don't know if a CG character would fit in the film. A huge Costume would of been better

You got all of that from a trailer? Impressive.

It really doesn't look as bad as I was dreading. Brett Ratner scares me, but it looks like they're keeping the tone similar to the previous movies (though I'm not too sure about those "war" scenes...).

I for one am glad they're not using magic in the movie (i.e. jugg's origin), as it would take away from the realistic gritty tone that has been prevalent in the films (or as realistic as you could get).

Yeah, and some scenes looked right out of T2...

Also to answer previous posts. It is the same actor for Cyclops and they even used the same actor from X2 for Colossus.

All the women in this movie are hot. How did they get Romijn back? I thought she said she was done with X2? Couldn't take the makeup.

If you read some of the official information on various comic news sites, you can get a basic premise of the story (not alot) but a few tidbits of specifics here and there.

The realisitic tone, is great. I like it. BUT, let's not forget that while the X franchise is going for "realism" the X-Men are part of the Marvel Universe. In the MU, you do have guys as big as houses, people abnormally preportional to what they should be in size, things that do not compute with logical science (god Dr Strange would do nicely as a cameo...), it's a comic universe. I know they do have to take some liberaties and translate it to film but come on, at least give the guy a really large foam/rubber (convincing looking) suit to wear with maybe some cgi to help if needed. He doesn't need the spandex or exact colors of the film but get his size and helmet right for god sakes.

I agree. You know all these people that are like "ZOMG DON'T SEE IT IN THE TheATERZ, PROTEXT THE REVOLUTION!" are going to see it anyway. Look there are a few things that upset me.

Though I am quite a big fan of all Brotherhood characters, I have learned not to bitch about their costumes. Look at Pyro as well - that's not the pyro that I know and love.

And to the guy that wanted Psylocke in the movie - no, just no. She is a much later addition, and I'm sure she is at the bottem of somebody's list.

For everyone having problems viewing quicktime (or for that matter, any type of file), try using VLC (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/). My quicktime player would not handle the x3 movie (any of them) but the vlc player played all of them very nicely, even the 1080p one. Seriously, go check it out. I am still running an old version of quicktime, although its because I have never got around to uninstalling it. I never wanted to upgrade either for the same reason most of you guys have, I just didn't want to get the bundled version of iTunes with it (bleh). I like players that do what they are supposed to without problems or crap addons.

That's the same actor. The official cast list was released for the major characters several months ago. He doesn't even look like a different guy, he just has facial hair.

Also, why would you be happy? He does a good job as Scott.
