The Comics Continuum (http://www.comicscontinuum.com/) is reporting that the new trailer for X-Men 3 will be released on Apple's Quicktime website (http://www.quicktime.com/) this coming Monday, December 5th - a week earlier than its theatrical debut before King Kong on December 14th.

The spolier-filled highlights of the trailer can be read here. (http://www.comicscontinuum.com/stories/0512/02/index.htm)

I can't wait to see what they've done to my favorite mutants.

The more I read about this film, the more I'm dismayed by it. It seems that they've packed every known mutant in the universe into this one to make it a 2 hour long fight scene with little or no plot/character development.

Well if they have to jump the shark, I figure that's the best way to do it.

Agreed, we always knew it'd jump the shark eventually, might as well do it in style.

I was a little worried when I learned Singer was off the project, but I was pretty pissed off when I heard Brett Rattner was going to head the film. Will I watch it? Probably, just like I watched Blade: Trinity. But unless the trailers blow me away, I'll most likely be waiting for it on Netflix.

um...i think your being a little to harsh on them. i think they are doing a great job showing all the different kinda of mutants. you have to realize that they always have a tough time making movies like this because they have to compact so much material and history into a very short amount of time. i think that x-men is one of the few comic-to-movie's that they actualy did a great job on.
(if you realy want a movie to whine about just look at the hulk!)

Well that's largely the problem, I think. They don't have to do that at all, they just feel as though they have to. Like trying to always cram 2 or 3 villians in a Batman movie. There were 5 original Xmen. There's no real need for 50 to be in the movie.

I hope they're just cameos for fans and they don't try to make them into full charachters.

thx man, that is fantastic news...and an absolutely fantastic actor...it'll be interesting how he/they turn this mammoth-raging character on to the big screen.

Most likely Vince will have some CG rendered body ala Smigel/Gollum.

"They" did do a good job on X-Men (and X2). Unfortunatly, "they" (Brian Singer and his crew) are not doing X3, an entirely new group of people is working on it, thus the worry.

Perhaps now Cyclops can be a character. He's not as popular as Wolverine, but for God's sake he was the first xmen, give him SOMETHING to do.

Cyclops will still be given the shaft. If you look hard enough you'll see that, after X3, production on the Wolverine movie will shift into high gear. I think this movie will be all about wolvie and his dissonance within the team's dynamic. He'll leave at the end of the third flick so they can spin off his new franchise.

Ratner blows. I don't have high hopes for this movie although I do think that Kelsey Grammar as Hank McCoy is pretty decent casting.

Also, the Hulk isn't so bad. It tried some new things, some very postmodern techniques, and didn't achieve any commercial appeal. It could have been much worse. It could have been Dolph Lundgren's Punisher or that other Captain America flick from the eighties.

If this movie is any good, it will be a miracle. Brett Ratner has a shit track record, and from what I've read of what the movie is going to be about, this is going to continue in the grand tradition of lame 3rd movies (Superman 3, Return of the Jedi, Robocop 3, Terminator 3, etc.). Holding out a little bit of hope, because after all, the 1st X-Men looked like crap from the trailers too.

I assume this is going to be the Pheonix story, since Jean Grey is back. That, and the first Brood storyline, were 2 of the best ever done with XMen. Any info on the plot, be it thin or not?

Hey Return of the Jedi was still better then the prequels (minus the clone war cartoons), Last Crusade was damn good, Army of Darkness, Return of the King, and Nightmare on Elm Street: Dream Warriors.

And X3 is going to be about both the Phoenix Saga and "the cure" found for Mutants. Along with like 3 or so of the character mainstays getting the axe, one no longer being a mutant, and two getting it on.

The Hulk was good, it was just not a normal comic book movie. I think Ebert summed it up best when he said that The Hulk was a comic book movie for people that don't generally like comic book movies.

I just enjoyed it for Nick Nolte. Especially when he bit into the electrical wire.

I agree - Alan Cummings nailed down a fantastic Nightcrawler. However, it is understandable to have atleast some sort of cameo since the story is focusing on Wolvie (?), but if Nightcrawlers is completely out of the picture, that's bad considering he's part of the original 2nd gen team (which the movie franchise has been focusing on).

Nevertheless, to me, as long as there's Colossus, Wolvie, and Juggernaut, X3 will be entertaining. Where the hell is Beast?
