An update has been released for the popular music surfing title; Audiosurf (http://store.steampowered.com/app/12900/). The update adds a new visualizer, enhanced community features and Unicode support. The game will update automatically via steam, remember to restart your client.

If you haven't tried this game out yet, you really ought to. It shows you that even home brew can become successful. Surf on.

I never liked Audiosurf... always felt it was generally pointless and boring.

Get better music, then.
The levels are... you know, generated from it.

Yes, music and speakers are the issue I have with the game. You guys are totally on the money. Conceptually its a grand idea. Take your music, throw it through a processor, and you get a game 'based' on that music. The problem is that the game itself is not good.

While I mostly agreed with Modeps at first - I finally discovered the glory of the intermediate-ninja ship. Simplifying the game down to "dodge gray/grab color" really let me appreciate how well *everything* in the game was sculpted to the music. For all the other racers everything is too busy for me to enjoy the track & the music together.

Ive only ever liked Ninja, the other modes are stupid. I guess it depends on the kind of music you like, but getting something fast or heavy with ninja can be so damn intense, or soothing with a slower yet structurally complex song. I havent played in forever though, time to get back in with some Dieselboy or Infected Mushroom.
