Fans of the tabletop fantasy-americanstyle-football game, BloodBowl, are well aware of what Blood Bowl is. For those that aren't aware, and aren't sure if they should care that its coming to XBLA, Focus Entertainment has released a series of videos showing off the game as well as an official trailer that was released today. Head over to their site (http://www.bloodbowl-game.com/videos/index.php?video=4) to check out the game.

Today is the big day for fans of “Blood Bowl” - the sometimes humorous, and often brutal, fantasy sport game based on American Football and the Warhammer world! Today, Focus Home Interactive and Cyanide Studio have released an explosive extended-length trailer, which wraps up our four-part series and gives you a look at the in-game elements of the title!

Watch the video and experience the game’s real-time and turn-based modes, and see how you can customize your teams – from choosing specific characters, to designing individual players before sending them out to do battle on the pitch. Along with actual in-game video, we’ve included some cinematics that showcase some of the famous gameplay concepts of “Blood Bowl” – including dirty plays, underhand tactics and all-out cheating.

I've always wanted to try Blood Bowl, but much like any miniature based game, never felt like ponying up the initial cost.

Been following it for a while and finally seeing some of the customisation options is awesome!

Not too bothered about the realtime mode, as long as they get the turn based version spot on , including character progression, then it should be incredible fun!

Fantastic visual quality
Great humor, style
Great animations and character rigs and customization
Excellent IP
Brilliant marketing timing
Good hedge to have a realtime mode as well as traditional turn based.

Overall, I am not one iota interested in football, but this looks like a ton of fun.

The table top second edition was the best minature game every put put by GW imo. Can't wait to try this.

Agreed, and I'm counting WH, WH40K, Mordheim, Necromunda, Epic, Battlefleet Gothic, and Warmaster.

Looks amazing! I loved the old Mutant League Football on the Genesis (I know they took the idea from GW, but that's where I first encountered it) and this looks like that take to the next level. Love the idea of turn-based mode and real-time! Madden should have a turn-based mode for people new to football. Brilliant!

Not familiar with Blood Bowl, but I am very familiar with Cyanide's previous effort, Chaos League. For that alone, I couldn't be any more excited for this. Why does the combination of Warhammer's fantasy world and American Football work so well together?

FTW! I was just going to make a comment about Mutent League. Some of the most fun I've had on a console! Used to play that on the Sega Channel (Which was also super awesome times).

OMG this looks so good. I gave up on Cyanide and this game when I hadn't heard any news for so damn long. But the videos look great and as long as they get the strategy turn-based portion of the game down correctly with the 2.0 rules, this might be my favorite game EVER!

And on DS, too! Can you imagine having a portable BB game? AWESOME!

p.s. Those of you who love the BB tabletop, check out http://www.fumbbl.com for a java version you can play with others. Good stuff!

FUMBLL is fantastic, primarily because it cuts the length of a game in half; when the players have to keep track of everything themselves, a game can easily take four hours or more, depending on just how long people take to make their moves. Since the java version handles all of that for you, games are cut down to a much more managable two hours.
If the turn-based mode of the upcoming game is basically a pretty version of FUMBLL, then we'll have nothing to worry about.

The mode I'm most looking forward to is the real-time mode, of all things. I'm basically hoping for something like Blitz 2000 with Greenskins and Beast Men.

Also, I really, really, really hope you can pull stuff like one of my friends used to do; he built an all-Halfling team and stuck two Ents on it. He'd hand the ball off to one of the halflings and have the ent throw him toward the end zone; if the little guy survived the landing, Touch Down! It's the absurd stuff that really makes the game fun.
