According to an article (http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/rpg/emenchantarm/news.html?sid=6140583) on Gamespot (www.gamespot.com), Japanese gamers are showing a growing interest in the X360. According to a poll taken at the Tokyo Game Show, 23% of attendees said they were interested in purchasing an X360, a gain of 21% over the mere 2% that showed interest in a survey (http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/rpg/bluedragon/news.html?page=1&sid=6128891) taken in July.

Despite a disappointing showing in Japan with the original Xbox, it appears that Microsoft is making progress in establishing a presence with gamers in the Far East. A survey of Tokyo Game Show 2005 visitors indicated that interest in Microsoft's Xbox 360 was higher than the Nintendo Revolution.

The report was conducted by the TGS host Computer Entertainment Suppliers Association (CESA), which found that 23 percent of surveyed visitors said they were looking forward to picking up the Xbox 360. While that figure doesn't come close to that of Sony's PlayStation 3, which caught the interest of 70 percent of surveyed showgoers, it did beat out Nintendo's Revolution, which only garnered interest from 20.9 percent of those surveyed. Take that Perigon!

Im not going to be the anal math guy that points out an increase from 2% to 23% is not a 21% increase...

I'd like to see actual sales figures before we claim that Xbox gains ground. Oh, there's also a servey conducted by Famitsu on vendors and customers right here (http://www.the-magicbox.com/game20051127.shtml). Here's a little snippet on the vendors side of things:
How will Xbox 360 sell? (for Dealers)

* 5.5% - Much better than Xbox
* 31.5% - Better than Xbox
* 23.3% - No different than Xbox
* 26.0% - Worse than Xbox
* 13.7% - No comment

Famitsu have been doing a poll almost every month since E3 and I think this will continue until at least one more of the big three is released.

You mean, "Alright, I am not." Also, you should end your sentence with a period. And what the fuck is this: :)? I have never seen punctuation smile.

Whoa, whoa whoa, you mean to tell me, that a system that's less then a week away from launching in Japan, is now 3% more popular then a system that's more then a year away, doesn't have a single screen shot of any game to it's credit, that no one has ever played, and almost everything about it is being kept secret??

Whoa!! MS Japan must be opening the wine bottles as we speak!

I will say this, I have been to several shops in Tokyo with the XB360 on display and from what I have seen people don't seem to show much interest in it. They see it, take about a 5-10 second look at what's running on the screen then glance at the hardware and walk away.

As to saying that there appears to be more interest in the 360 than Nintendo's next offering. Well, duh....we haven't seen much concrete about the Revolution while the 360 is out for all to see.

It will be interesting to see what happens come early December when the 360 is released here. I don't think there will be any shortages, fighting or robberies like in the "Land of the free" lol.

That's why I didn't focus on the fact that they are more interested in the X360. The important fact, is that they are penetrating a tresistant market.

While that would be cool, RPGs on the 360 (you know, actual GOOD ones), that's the reason I own a PS2 and will own a PS3. The shortage of RPGs doesn't bother me. What bothers me is when utter shit RPGs are jacked off to because of the meager offering.

I dont recall anyone waking off to Sudeki. The most popular RPGs on the Xbox was the Bioware stuff, KOTOR and Jade Empire. Plus Elder Scrolls.

Replace Jade Empire with Sudeki then.

I enjoyed Jade Empire, but it doesn't touch KoToR 1 or 2, or any of biowares other games for that matter (especially BG2)
