The good people over at Mac World (http://www.macworld.com) are reporting (http://www.macworld.com/news/2005/11/30/sonyrss/index.php) that Sony is condidering offering RSS text feed support for PSP.

If enough customers ask for it, Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCEI) may add support for text content served via an RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feed to its PlayStation Portable (PSP) gaming console, the company said Wednesday.
So there you have it.

I'm totally blown away.

Maybe they should consider some game support.

Talk about redundant news posts....

Sony just released firmware 2.60. It supports RSS. From the patch notes:

[RSS Channel] has been added as a feature under [Network].

Again, the RSS support in 2.60 supports not only text feeds, but streaming audio RSS feeds (!!).

EDIT: my bad, apparently the 2.60 RSS support announced yesterday was EXCLUSIVELY for audio support... text feeds aren't supported yet, hence the new post by fitbabits.

Seems odd to support audio RSS and not text, but it's a good start.
