Chilean independent game developer ACE Team has announced it will distribute Zeno Clash (http://www.zenoclash.com) via Steam and Direct2Drive for a value price of $20.00 USD. ACE Team has intentionally priced the game at only $20 in order to help give as many players as possible access to its debut title.

"It's very important for us at ACE Team that Zeno Clash reaches a broad amount of consumers", said Andres Bordeu, Co-Founder of ACE Team. "We want everyone to be able to play our title and setting a low price for the high production value that the game packs seems like the best way to share our bizarre and intriguing world. I think people will be especially happy with the price during these hard times".

Zeno Clash was recently honored as a finalist (http://www.igf.com/02finalists.html) in the 2009 Independent Games Festival (IGF) Awards for Excellence in Visual Art.

Very much looking forward to this title. And that is a bargain price for it too.

It was mildly pimped in a Steam news update. Perhaps there?

I'm not sure how I feel about fighting game-styled gameplay in a first-person game. I remember Jedi Knight 2 had some fighter-like controls for the lightsaber and being immediately turned off by that aspect of the game.

Zeno Clash, however, appears to be built entirely around that concept. Here's hoping they managed to nail it, because this game is definitely going to be riding directly on the quality of its (probably almost entirely) unconventional control scheme. Its the sort of thing that hasn't been done all that often...and it hasn't worked out all that well even when people attempted it.

Although, the hand-to-hand combat in Mirror's Edge wasn't all that bad...but that also wasn't nearly as involved as what this appears to be. I'll just have to reserve judgement and pray for a demo.

The gameplay kinda looks like Dark Messiah/Arx Fatalis, which is cool cause those games have awesome controls.

As for the $20, that's like three months pay in Chile so I can understand them charging lower than usual. Well ok, not really but I just had to say what many of you were thinking :P
